CAME-TV LBVL4A Overview

Featuring a support vest with a solid design reminiscent of the original motion picture camera stabilizing system, the CAME-TV Pro Camera Vest & Dual-Arm Support System features a heavy-duty, spring-loaded arm that supports camera and gear weighing up to 26.46 pounds. The vest is adjustable to fit a variety of body styles and the arm attachment bracket can be worn on either side of the vest for left- or right-handed operation.

An adjustable metal front plate provides the structure, while a padded fabric rear plate adjusts and conforms to your body. Quick release buckles join the front and rear plates, and hook-and-loop fasteners sewn into the fabric distribute the weight along the entire vest. Disengaging the quick-release brackets allows the operator to escape the vest in an emergency. The arm has a mounting pin that allows you to use select CAME-TV and third-party stabilizer sleds.

Safety Features
The vest features six quick release buckles: two at the shoulder, two at the side, and two at the hips. Disengaging the buckles separates the vest into two separate pieces, allowing the operator to escape the vest in an emergency.
Adjustability
The front plate allows you to adjust the height of the vest to fit your body. It features a main rail with drilled locating holes and a spring-loaded locating pin arrangement. Once you have adjusted the height and the pin engages the locating hole, you tighten the locking knob to secure the vest in place.

The arm support mounting plate adjusts and locks along the same rail that the vest does, using the same locating pin and separate locking knob arrangement. This allows you to adjust the height of the arm for your comfort. You can also mount the arm support for left- or right-arm operation.

question

Can this vest work with the glidecam hd4000?
Asked by: Isaac
I bought this vest and use it with the Devin Graham Glidecam and a Sony fs7. It works great! The only thing I did was go to home depot to the plumbing section and I found a plastic tube to cover the arm and the Glidecam handle now slides in perfectly. Cost me about $1.50. The vest is built like a tank!

What is the minimum size for a person not to have the arm too close to the hips? I heard this is a very big vest
Asked by: Nicola
The vest of the CAME-TV Pro Camera Vest & Dual-Arm Support System (13.23 to 26.46 lb) (B&H# CALBVL4A) is versatile so that you can adjust its height and fit for a range of larger body types. Fitment will vary by body shape and size, but it is adjustable across a range of larger torsos specifically to address the issue you mention. There is no specific minimum size given by the manufacturer, but given user experiences we could recommend it for persons wearing at least a large US size shirt or larger (e.g. XL, XXL, XXL, etc.). You may also want to wear a sweatshirt (A.K.A. jersey, jumper, etc.) underneath it for additional padding, better fitment, and more comfort. Some users have sewn the straps to be shorter to fit medium-size torsos. Others have added padding by opening the zippers in the pads, removing the internal foam padding, and tracing those included pads on pieces of foam that were subsequently cut out to add to or make new pads to put back inside the (zippered) padding holders. (That’s convenient because adding padding doesn’t require sewing.) While one should be aware that any modification would nullify the warranty, users adding padding and the like have reported being happy with the resulting fit -- especially at this previously unheard-of price level for this type of product.

question

Is this vest compatible with the Glidecam HD4000?
Asked by: Anonymous
This Support System is designed for CAME-TV stabilizers. It may work with the Glidecam HD4000 as well, however you may need to modify the connection post for a secure fit. If you search through the other Q&A's you will see that other customers have had success with this, but this is a Do It Yourself project. We do not have a specific product to make the HD4000 work with this unit.

question

Can this be be used with Steadicam Steadimate? Or do I need some sort of adapter?
Asked by: Lars Hauge H.
The pin on the CAME-TV is reported to be 5/8 and the Steadicam Steadimate is 1/2 so it cannot fit directly.

Can this work with a ronin or ronin m ?
Asked by: Angelo
The CAME-TV post is 16mm. The GyroVu Universal Armpost Adapter for DJI Ronin/Ronin-M/MX B&H # GYGVDJIUAPH is supposed to take 16mm posts.

question

Does anyone know the dimensions of this vest/dual arms? I want to know if this would fit in a pelican 1510 or 1560 case. Came-TV doesn't seem to sell the case separately, and Pelican would be a nice substitute. Thanks.
Asked by: Paul
CAME-TV suggests this case. Smith-Victor SoftCase with Wheels B&H # SMCW.
