Fujifilm 16471691 overview

  • 1Description

This Metal Hand Grip provides an optimized grip for easier handling and manipulation of the Fujifilm X-T10/X-T20 mirrorless digital camera. Milled from aluminum alloy and matching the silhouette of the camera, this hand grip adds additional clearance from the base of the body to better support the use of large-diameter lenses when mounted to a tripod.

The grip also facilitates access to the battery compartment and memory card slot, even when mounted to a tripod, for easier switching of batteries and cards during shooting. Additionally, the 1/4"-20 tripod mount has been positioned along the optical axis of the camera to benefit the creation of panning shots and the bottom of the plate is equipped with rails for use in conjunction with a quick release plate.

Metal Hand Grip for X-T10/X-T20 is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It should come as standard equipment, not an add on. I have three Fuji cameras and three hand grips. I'm not sure why Fuji can't design a more holdable camera body but they don't. I bought this one for my newly acquired X-T20. The 20 is a smaller body than most of the other Fujis and I had difficulty holding the camera body. My thumb would invariably hit the menu button and I'd be late to a shot. The hand grip changes all that. It fits the camera like a glove. The plate allows access to the battery/card compartment and a tripod access plate will fit on top (bottom) of the grip. It's a real convenience and I recommend it to anyone having difficulty with holding the camera.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, not great I am disappointed. This product improves my ability to hold the camera securely to some degree. However, I still tend to accidentally hit the function buttons on the back with my right hand, so I still need to disable the Quick Menu to prevent an accidental change in my settings. A better design would feature a larger secure grip with the option to remove the grip when weight is an issue. Considering the small improvement afforded by this accessory, Fuji should have simply changed the contour of the case to match the contour of the grip. The item would be a good buy for $$. Unfortunately, it costs $$.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Addition to a Great Camera! It's really hard to justify $ for a piece of metal, but after using this grip for a few weeks I can honestly say.....if I hadn't gotten this for free with my Fuji X-T10 kit, I would absolutely have purchased it in the end!It really is engineered very well, and the fact that it has a built arca-swiss base is impressive. The grip is outstanding and feels like it is a part of the camera. You can still easily access the battery and the SD card, and the grip adds just the right amount of extra dimension.I also purchased the Lensmate thumb rest and it is an excellent combo with this grip! It feels so incredibly solid and like it was made that way.Highly recommended!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well-made but seems overpriced This handgrip fits well and is a good match for the finish on the X-T10 camera body. The extra gripping surface doesn't add much bulk, but does make the camera more comfortable to hold when using larger, heavier lenses such as the 90mm f/2 Fujinon. I wish it didn't have the widened, somewhat sharp edges along the base (these are supposedly for attaching to an Arca-Swiss quick release, but I don't have one of those and I doubt if very many X-T10 owners will use one frequently enough to justify the discomfort it causes.) And the price does seem a bit silly for a piece of metal that has no moving parts (other than the mounting screw) and that adds no functions or features to the camera. Still, if you want a bit more gripping surface on your X-T10 and don't mind the price tag, this is a good way to get it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Grip, but Hard to Access Battery Door The grip itself is nice and makes it much easier to hold the smaller X-T10, but it comes at a cost. You'll have a hell of a time taking the SD card out of the batter door now. If that isn't a big deal, and you have a knack for this, by all means buy it. The other issue is that is defeats the purpose of the X-T10's small size. What I liked about the X-T10 is that it was just about as small as the Sony A6000. Now, with the external grip attached, it is heavier and noticeably larger. Having the grip on also displaces the tripod hole, moving it over a bit. The not thing the grip does is make it easier to hold without pressing back buttons and changing settings. You could also argue that the lock button on the back of the camera would do that, but the grip is more stable than the X-T10 grip which is slim at best. This is where I love the Sony A6000. Sony got the grip right and without having to add a grip to make the camera larger. Their grip is so lovely. Fuji needs to redesign the grip on the X-T10. The grip as it stands fatigues the hand and makes it so difficult to not press the buttons. Anyway...on to shooting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey but worthwhile The X-T10 is a great camera, but the native handgrip is rather small -- I have average-sized hands, but the built-in grip was too small to get a secure and comfortable grip. The Metal Hand Grip accessory seems overpriced for what it is, but it fits perfectly with the lines of the camera and greatly improves comfort and stability -- I can get good exposures with less camera shake at lower speeds with the grip in place. The grip allows full access to the battery and SD card cover, and does not significantly change the weight or dimensions of the camera body. Unless you have small hands, grit your teeth over the price and add this accessory to your X-T10 -- you'll enjoy your camera more for doing so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Negligible increase in size but a great grip improvement I found the grip on my X-T20 difficult and I tended to accidentally hit the buttons on the back of the camera. On the other hand I like the compactness of the camera and did not want to make it bulkier. The Fuji metal hand grip turned out to be an insignificant increase to the size of the camera, but it made a huge improvement in the grip and convenience. No problems with access to the battery/memory compartment or tilting the LCD either. The slight bulge increase from the grip does not increase the effective size of the camera, as it is at the side of the lens, and I think Fuji should simply increase the grip on the next model. Using that extra volume for increased battery capacity would be a great idea.
