With the M|62 Bundle from Softron, you can enjoy all of the features of MovieRecorder 4 and OnTheAir Video Express in a certified hardware and software package designed for Mac Pro workstations. The bundle includes one Sonnet Echo Express SEL Thunderbolt 2 Expansion Chassis housed with a Deltacast HD-SDI video card (DELTA-hd-elp-d 62) with six inputs and two outputs. Six licenses of MovieRecorder (one for each input channel) and two licenses of OnTheAir Video Express (one for each output channel) are included on a single USB dongle. The video card uses DIN 1.0/2.3 connectors, so for interfacing with cameras and video equipment that use standard BNC connectors, eight 1' BNC female to DIN 1.0/2.3 SDI cables are included. For connecting the external chassis to your Mac Pro, one 5' black Thunderbolt cable is also included.
MovieRecorder 4 is a video ingest software that supports up to six streams of 1080p video in this M|62 Bundle configuration. It can be used for direct-to-edit capture or you can set it up for scheduled recordings or even 24/7 operation. It can also be configured for live streaming or direct upload to a remote FTP server. You can choose from a number of poplar codecs, including H.264, DNxHD, and ProRes for editing in virtually any NLE software, including Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Avid Media Composer. Thanks to the Deltacast DELTA-hd-elp-d 62, 4 x HD/SD, 2 x 2K, and 1 x 4K signals can be recorded. Additionally, a cloud-based backup can even be made while streaming.
In conjunction with the Deltacast video card, OnTheAir Video Express lets you playout 2 x HD/SD and 1 x 2K signals. Softron uses its own playout engine called Smart Playout Engine, which allows mixing multiple codecs and resolutions in the same playlist without installing any additional software, and features an Automatic Resize tool that will efficiently scale frame sizes to Fill, Pan-and-Scan, or Letterbox. The standard playout file type is QuickTime (.mov), but you can also select Transport Stream (.ts), MXF (.MXF), and others. Supported video codecs include most i-frame and long-GOP codecs, including Apple ProRes, Avid NDxHD, AVC-Intra, and XDCAM.
