Intel R2208GZ4GC Overview

Harness the performance of up to two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v2 processors in a 2U rackmount R2208GZ4GC Server System from Intel. This system offers eight 2.5" hot-swappable drive bays and supports up to 768GB of ECC memory to provide reliable data storage with performance for Datacenters, Cloud environments, and other enterprise uses. To build a server with the functionality you need, it comes with expansion options such as two PCIe x16 Gen 3 slots as well as connectors for an Intel I/O expansion module x8 Gen 3 and an Intel integrated RAID module.

This system comes equipped with six USB 3.0 ports, ten SATA ports, two serial ports, and connects to your network with four 1 GbE LAN ports. To help keep the system always-available, Intel has included two redundant 750W power supplies as well as redundant hot-swappable cooling fans. In addition, you are offered advanced technologies to help it run more efficiently and secure. Included along with the Intel R2208GZ4GC Server System is an Intel RAID C600 RKSATA8 upgrade key, which is an eight-port SATA key with software Intel ESRT2 RAID 0, 1, 10 and RSTe RAID 0, 1, 5, 10.

Intel Remote Management Module
The Intel Remote Management Module allows you to securely gain access and control servers and other devices from any machine on the network. Remote access includes remote management capability, including power control, KVM, and media redirection, with a dedicated management network interface card (NIC).
Integrated BMC with IPMI 2.0
IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) is a standardized interface used for out-of-band management of computer systems. The integrated BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) is a specialized microcontroller that enables IPMI.
Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
Trusted Platform Module is a component that provides hardware level security upon system boot-up via stored security keys, passwords, encryption, and hash functions.
Intel Intelligent Power Node Manager
Intel Intelligent Power Node Manager is a platform resident technology that enforces power and thermal policies for the platform. It enables data center power and thermal management by exposing an external interface to management software through which platform policies can be specified. It also enables specific datacenter power management usage models such as power limiting.
Intel Advanced Management Technology
Intel's Advanced Management Technology features an isolated, independent, secure, and highly reliable network connection, with an Integrated Baseboard Management Controller (Integrated BMC) configuration from within BIOS. Also includes an embedded web user interface that launches key platform diagnostic capabilities over the network, an out-of-band (OOB) platform inventory, failsafe firmware updates, and an automatic Integrated BMC stall detection and reset.
Intel Server Customization Technology
Intel Server Customization technology enables resellers and system builders to offer end customers a customized experience, SKU configuration flexibility, flexible boot options, and maximum I/O options.
Intel Build Assurance Technology
Intel Build Assurance technology provides advanced diagnostic features ensuring that the most comprehensively tested, thoroughly debugged, and stable systems are available to customers.
Intel Efficient Power Technology
Intel Efficient Power Technology is a series of improvements within Intel power supplies and voltage regulators to increase power delivery efficiency and reliability. The technology is included in all common redundant power supplies (CRPS). CRPS includes the following technologies; 80 PLUS Platinum (92% efficient at 50% load) efficiency, cold redundancy, closed loop system protection, smart ride through, dynamic redundancy detection, black box recorder, compatibility bus, and auto firmware updates to provide more efficient power delivery to the system.
Intel Quiet Thermal Technology
Intel Quiet Thermal Technology is a series of thermal and acoustic management innovations that reduce unnecessary acoustic noise and provide cooling flexibility while maximizing efficiency. The technology includes capabilities such as advanced thermal sensory arrays, advanced cooling algorithms, and built in fail-safe shutdown protection.
Intel Virtualization Technology
Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) continues from the existing support for IA-32 (VT-x) and Itanium processor (VT-i) virtualization adding support for I/O-device virtualization. Intel VT-d can help you improve security and reliability of the systems and also improve performance of I/O devices in virtualized environments.
Intel Matrix Storage Technology
Intel Matrix Storage Technology provides protection, performance, and expandability for desktop and mobile platforms. Whether using one or multiple hard drives, you can take advantage of enhanced performance and lower power consumption. When using more than one drive, you can have additional protection against data loss in the event of hard drive failure. Predecessor to Intel Rapid Storage Technology
Intel Rapid Storage Technology
Intel Rapid Storage Technology provides protection, performance, and expandability for desktop and mobile platforms. Whether using one or multiple hard drives, users can take advantage of enhanced performance and lower power consumption. When using more than one drive the user can have additional protection against data loss in the event of hard drive failure. It is a successor to Intel Matrix Storage Technology.
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise
Intel Rapid Storage Technology enterprise (Intel RSTe) provides performance and reliability for supported systems equipped with Serial ATA (SATA) devices, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) devices, and/or solid state drives (SSDs) to enable an optimal enterprise storage solution.
