Konova K-ARM overview

  • 1Description

The Tripod Stability Arm for Slider from Konova increases the stability of your slider when mounting on a single tripod. One end of the arm clamps to a leg on your tripod and the other attaches to the end of the slider track via a 1/4"-20 thumbscrew. An extendable design and angle adjustable connectors that let you set the slider at the desired position, be it level or at an angle. While one support arm is usually sufficient, for angled shots adding a second arm is recommended.

Compatibility
The Stability Arm is compatible with sliders that have a 1/4"-20 threaded hole at the end of the track.

Konova K-ARM reviews

Tripod Stability Arm for Slider is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not good for iFootage Shark sliders I'm giving this three stars because it seems well built, but it wasn't long enough for my use. I'm using an iFootage Shark slider with extensions. At its longest length, where a stability arm would be useful, the Konova product is too short. I'm sure this product would work great with sliders of different designs. The Shark slider design is based on carbon-fiber tubes, with no place to attach the Stability Arm until you get to the very end. Sliders with mounting points along the entire length should probably work fine with this product. But if you're using the Shark or similar products, beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I have only used this stabilizer arm for one shoot but I am very pleased with it. The construction is sturdy and with quality materials. I have a Kessler Second Shooter motorized slider and although I am using a sturdy tripod there is sag when the head gets to the ends of the slider. I tried to use 2 tripods and although the stability is perfect it takes too much time to set them up and moving the rig is a hassle. The Konova arm is easy and quick to install and I believe it is totally worth the $$I spent on it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works as advertised... could be better We use these arms for real-estate videos, to speed up the shoot. We bought two. As others suggested, I recommend putting one on each end of the slider for maximum stability. Unfortunately, one side is always going to be more stable than the other, because you can only have one leg of the tripod directly under the slider holding the stability arm. The other stability arm is going to be offset. Quality of your tripod is also a factor. If the tripod has a tendency to flex under shifting weight, you may see it in the shot regardless of the stability arms. It works, but they could improve the quality. For one thing, the clamps have small rubber pads to prevent sliding over and scratching the legs of the tripod. They are just glues-on with a cheap adhesive and they all fell off after a few uses. Furthermore, the screw that locks the telescopic arm at length needs to be twisted pretty hard to do it's job and requires quite a bit of torque. We had to apply some grease, and now it's better. Also, the big red wheel that screws into the slider has a tendency to bite into it's metal track with it's screw when unscrewing. Overall: a usable device, but average build quality. For 90$, I expected better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must have for single tripod use This stability arm does what it claims. Stops slider from flexing on single tripod. Due to the fact it creates a rigid connection on one end the other end does not move. If you have a long slider and or really heavy rig you might need two. Four stars only because some fit and finish issues but does not effect performance. Simple to attach and take off. About 1-2 minutes with care.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Konova Tripod Stability Arm for Slider is the perfect accessory! I have used my KONOVA 4 foot slider since 2012. Even with a heavy duty tripod, the ends of the slider would dip slightly. Yes you can set up the rig with two tripods or light stands with adapters, but... Thanks to the Konova Tripod Stability Arm, the slider is rock solid at both ends! So much easier to set up and the shots are perfectly level. I am very happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to tripod slider Works as advertised. I think two would be better than one. Well built, simple to use.
