With a capacity of 960GB, this SSD uses a 2-pass, cascading encryption with two independent crypto engines that each use random and unique 256-bit keys to encrypt data. It first uses a 256-bit AES XTS mode algorithm and then a sequential 256-bit AES CBC mode algorithm that is FIPS 140-2 validated. Each bit of stored data is encrypted twice with two independent keys which never leave the DL3 FE SSD.
The DataLocker DL3 FE SSD features USB 3.0 connectivity, which also supports USB 2.0 connections. The drive is powered through its USB connection and requires a minimum of 5V and 1A of current. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems and comes pre-formatted for Windows NTFS, while also being compatible with NFS, EXT, and FAT.
