The w5 MIDI from Korg is a littleBits USB MIDI module that functions as a MIDI-to-voltage converter and a voltage-to-MIDI converter. The module has a note range from C2 to C6. A MIDI note of C2 generates a control voltage of 0.2V and increases by 1V per octave up to C6. The module outputs two control voltage signals; one for controlling other modules such as oscillators and a trigger output for sending a 5V "gate" signal for triggering envelopes.
The w5 MIDI module appears to your computer as MIDI interface with selectable input and output routing. The module can only be selected as either an input or output device at a given time, but multiple MIDI modules can be used at once.
- Module can both send and receive MIDI messages
- Create your own MIDI controller with other modules like the keyboard, micro sequencer, light sensor, and more
- Control Synth modules with software like Ableton Live, Logic, and Pro Tools
