The pack has a responsive Fusion Flex Pro suspension system for cushioning impact and lessening many of the stresses commonly associated with carrying loads for extended periods of time. The suspension system is comprised of twin, removable aluminum stays, anti-barreling cross stay, auto-cam shoulder harness with adjustable heights, sternum strap, sewn-in frame sheet to optimize back protection from gear, EVA foam back panel for shedding snow and an anti-slip lumbar pad. Extra weight reductions are possible by removing the top lid, hip belt, frame stays, and bivy pad.
A versatile pack, your Denai has two types of ice tool attachments – adjustable loops for traditional PLA's and a custom T-bar for modern hammer-less tools. The dedicated pick pocket keeps sharp points safe, and has an upper ice ax compression strap for added security. Internal V-compression straps on the bottom of the pack, and side compression straps help keep your load stable. The side compression straps may be used to carry skis, or crossed over the front of the pack for carrying a snowboard or snowshoes. The removable lid is secured with five straps, with the rear center one useful for creating added headroom for helmet wearers.
The top lid features an inner mesh pocket, and a security pocket with key clip. Extra, included straps may be used for converting the top lid into a small summit pack. These straps are also useful for making quick repairs in the field, attaching crampons to the front of the pack, and as a minimal hip belt. The hip belt has a gear loop, ice clipper slot, direct haul loops for securing to a sled, and a zippered pocket for a cell phone, camera, or snacks. The front of the pack uses internally laminated TPU coating for puncture resistance, and the bottom of the bag has three layers with foam for abrasion protection. Daisy chains are made of tubular webbing with upper, emergency haul tabs for attaching carabiners. Dual front pockets are connectable for storing a collapsible shovel. For hydration, the pack has an internal reservoir sleeve and tube port.
