I’ve been wanting to buy this tripod for a long time. As an Architecture photographer I need something sturdy and stable. Then yesterday my tripod broke in the middle of a photo shoot so I had to buy a new one. Not only I found and bought this tripod that I really like but a person at B&H also took the time to fix the broken one (which I bought years ago at B&H). So I walked out with two perfectly functioning tripods! Amazing! The Benro is now my main tripod and the old Manfrotto is the backup one.

The Benro TMA48CXL Extra Long Series 4 Mach3 Carbon Fiber Tripod would hold more weight, would be taller at its max height and would fold down to a more compact size compared to the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3. On the other hand, the MT055XPRO3 would offer a built-in lateral column over the TMA48CXL.

The Benro does not come with a tripod head. Having features you are looking for would depend on what head you use.

Yes, you can remove the center column but if there is no column used, it is not usable as a typical tripod.
