Recently I purchased spotting scope from B&H I initially used a tripod I had, but do to the weight and value, I decided to upscale my tripod for the new scope...what a difference in quality! The new Benro TMA27A tripod is a tremendous cut above my old one.Very easy to use, sturdy, easy to manipulate!!

I love it. Perfect size and weight for my aging body. Very stable. I'm 5' 8 and height is good without raising center column.

Very Sturdy

I bought this tripod after much research but without much experience with tripods. It is heavy duty and well built. I was surprised to see how sturdy it is with my fujifilm camera and 100-400mm lens. I really like the way the knob to tighten the quick release plate requires it to be pulled out before it can be loosened. Great safety feature protecting against accidental loosening of the quick release plate. Very impressed with this tripod.

My Take-Everywhere Tripod

By Robert

I did some researching first on how tripods are made and glad I did. I wanted a good sturdy build that wouldnt flex in wind, and the Benro Mach3 series matched all my criteria. The Benro TMA27A Mach3 tripod best represents the dimensions of an all-purpose take-everywhere tripod with 28.6mm diameter legs showing a solid stance and quick and easy to use. I prefer having only three leg sections for best stability and seldom ever use the tripod at full height even though it can reach 63.5 inches. The specs for all Benro tripods are listed on the Benro Website and include the diameter measurement for each leg section. With the many brands and styles available to choose from, Benro also has the nice price and this tripod is working fine for me. Even with a 25 inch fold-up length and a weight of just under four pounds I still pack it along simply because it is sorely missed if not available.

Was this a return ?

Some cosmetic damage to one of the mid leg sections. This is, in part at least, is a comparison review. My photography is with a medium format view camera, and with a 4x5 view camera....at present. Hoping to acquire another 4x5. My other tripod is a BENRO TMA37AL I like it for it's stability....and for it's lack of superfluous features. But it is heavy to carry any distance at my age. Yet I like it well enough to keep it. For the times when I will not have to walk too far. This tripod is noticeably lighter and smaller. But not so much that one could accuse it of being flimsy. However, it is not for breezy days....in my opinion. I especially like using it for getting personal with plants. That is with the leg sections fully retracted while I make my composition sitting on a low stool. You get some nice shots, that way, but it is awkward. The BENRO TMA37AL, with it's legs fully retracted, is too tall for this maneuver. I don't use my Kirk leveling base when doing this. Nor is it needed when in that unusual position. Dead level is easily obtained with a leg screw lock which is in front of you. As opposed to being below your waist. So now I have two tripods. And in honesty I should confess that this model was going to replace the heavier of the two. Not a chance. Respectfully submitted by Joseph from the U.S.A. in the Philippines....for the present time.

Love this tripod. I bought this and the benro geared head for my real estate photography. Its tall enough for all the jobs i need but it has a small enough footprint where you can put in in corners and tight spaces with no issues.

This tripod with a head attached GD3WH can be placed in a bag, what comes with the kit?
Asked by: Andrey
The Benro TMA27A Tripod includes a tripod bag, strap, allen key for leg joint tensioning, a flat wrench for the tripod head screw nut, and 3 spikes for the feet. The case can fit with typicall ballheads, however the handles protruding slightly from the Benro GD3WH Geared Head may prevent it from fitting in the case together. Hope this helps.

question

Does this tripod legs comes with padded bag which has room for head?
Asked by: Jonathan
No, it does not. According to Benro, cases included with tripod legs by themselves are only designed to support the tripod legs, and will not fit a tripod with a head mounted. Benro tripods sold with heads as a kit would already allow for the additional length of the head. As the Benro TMA27A Series 2 Mach3 Aluminum Tripod, B&H # BETMA27A MFR # TMA27A, listed above does not include a head, and as such, the included case would not fit a head; it would fit the tripod only. Benro states the included case's dimensions are 4.33 x 4.33 x 30.30 in in size.
