Yes, the included PU-60 Slide-in Quick release plate will screw into the Z8's 1/4 20 screw hole underneath the camera. The ballhead can also be rotated / adjusted and tightened in-place.

This head uses an Arca type plate and the PU50 and QR10 are Arca compatible, so yes, it will fit. Carbon or aluminum have no bearing on the plate.
