    Benro GH2C reviews

GH2C Carbon Fiber Gimbal Head is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second Benro Gimbal Head Excellent CNC milling, fabrication and flawless carbon fiber components. Matched the head up with Feisol 3472 tripod legs and a Feisol leveller. Installed a Desmond 150mm Arca Swiss compatible plate and a Desmond Flash Bracket. Installed a flash and a better beamer. Hiked over to a local salt water marsh to do some early morning shooting just before sunrise. Mounted a Canon 100-400mm, 1.4x teleconverter and Canon 7D. The pan axis operates smoothly but declination axis is a bit tight in the same way as a new Benro GH2. However, the GH2C will loosen up fine after a few weeks of use. It's lighter than a Wimberley II, but not as light as the Jobu Design MK4. I purchased the GH2C based on my earlier positive experiences using the GH2.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jerkey Tilt This carbon fiber gimbal head is an outstanding example of what a large lens needs to be mounted on to be effective. My ball head setup is no match for the Sigma 150-600 Sports lens & to utilize that lens I purchased this gimbal head. The quality is top notch but I had to return the head to Benro in New York for adjustment to the tilt mechanism. One thing about the gimbal head is the ability to balance the lens & camera body so when hands are removed, the lens & body are balanced. The tilt was so tight that balancing was not capable of being done. I am sure this is a very unusual problem & I know Benro will adjust to my acceptance. The tilt only was jerky right out of the box. The rotation of the head was amazingly smooth & I know when I get it back the tilt portion will be equally smooth. The build quality is what you would expect from Benro, just the best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sticky The horizontal pan is very smooth. The quality for the price is also good. The vertical movement is quite sticky even when the tension knob is completely loose. I'm hoping that as the surfaces polish, the movement will become more fluid. Only a portion of the head is carbon fiber, which explains why it is so heavy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well Built and Lightweight The GH2C is well built, lightweight, durable and easy to operate.
