Induro GIT304L overview

  • 1Description

Optimized for the highest level of stability and utilizing a flat modular magnesium alloy platform, Induro's GIT304L Grand Series 3 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod will provide many users with the ability to create their ideal setup, whether they need a leveling base, double-sided gear column, or video bowl. This version can hold up to 55.1 lb of equipment along with the ability to reach up to 59.1" in height. Also, due to the lack of a center column, it reaches down to 4.9".

Each leg is divided into 4 sections and they feature half-turn twist locks for fast adjustments. Portability is maintained as well with a folded length of 22.6". Each tripod also comes with an aluminum top plate with a hard anodizing, oversized weight hook, and a set screw for locking down your tripod head. Additionally, a carrying case is included for convenience.

    Induro GIT304L reviews

GIT304L Grand Series 3 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Induro Tripod This tripod is fantastic! I made my purchase based on the basic information provided as there were no other reviews. That fact in itself is surprising, because this is one very well made piece of equipment! Thick legs, and the lack of a center column make it quite sturdy. The large leg locks are also a nice touch and being constructed of carbon fiber, it weighs half of what my previous tripod did. I did a lot of research before buying, and am quite happy with my decision! The legs were paired with a Kirk BH-1 Ball Head. Thanks B&H!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Tripod After owning a number of tripods, I finely decided to try one without a center section. What I found is I never really used the center section, other than to get additional height, and that I usually just adjust the legs or crouch. Over time I found that the center section can create more wobble than I realized and that I would often squeeze my fingers inside when folding it up and moving it around. Needless to say, I found center section somewhat useless. For this purchase I took my time and really looked closely at different tripods, especially the ones with no center section (I still own 3 tripods with center sections). I went with the 304 because it's a little lighter that the 400 series and I don't have a need to secure 60 pounds of weight. It was a tossup between the 304 and the 404XL which goes taller, but that unit is another pound heavier. Let me say all my expectations came true. This is a very sturdy tripod and it can easily handle a heavy long lens, and it is very simple to use. The legs extend with a simple half turn and slide smoothly. And, this unit folds up to a shorter length than my Bogen tripod with a center section. It's very light, zero wobble in the center section as expected, and I will never squeeze my fingers when frequently picking it up and moving it. I'm also happy I didn't go for the heavier 404XL. I am 5'11 and I can easily raise the unit way over my head without fully spreading the legs out. With the legs fully spread out the camera sits just above my eye level. This is by far my favorite tripod I have ever used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A heavy duty tripod for a bargain price! Unlike the competition from GITZO, this tripod comes complete with 3 different sets of feet and an excellent heavy duty tripod bag. The bag is big enough to hold this tripod with ball head (in my case, an RRS BH-55) installed with room for a monopod as well. Check out Bryan's review on I found no issues with stability or ease of leg lock adjustment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and finish. Smooth stable operation. Very happy with the fit and finish. Smooth easy operation. Gimbal head and camera are only about 10 lbs in my setup so the Induro handles it easily. I put the Legcoat covers on mine for the added cover and comfort in transport. The flexibility to have an interchangeable central insert could mean I just grab the gimbal with a base insert or a ball head with the base insert. For now I'm good with just switching them up as needed. Really worth the purchase price. Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Robust Tripod Down graded from 5 stars due to lack of response from customer service. This is a high quality robust tripod. I purchased the Induro GIT304L because I needed very stable tripod for my telephoto lenses as well as my other lenses. Stability was the main criteria; not weight or compactness. It is a large tripod. I like the large twist locks on the legs. Before selecting this tripod I searched the internet for tripod reviews and discovered that comprehensive reviews and comparison reviews are very scarce to non existent. I selected this model based to fit my height with a little extra for flexibility. Is it more stable the Gitzo equivalent? Without seeing actual comparison test data we just do not know. There a lot of good testimonials but... The max height of my tripod with the oval pivoting feet installed measures 58.9 as the specification states. When the standard feet are attached, it measures 58.3--approximately 5/8 less than max. It comes with a very nice robust bag that measures 30'' long inside. This means that one can leave a 5 tall ball-head on the collapsed tripod and it will fit in the bag with about 2'' to spare. Very nice. It also comes with a dust bag (a thin lightweight bag), tool kit, 3 types of feet: spikes, standard, and oval pivoting. The oval pivoting feet seem to work well on interior floors. All parts appear to be high quality. The big unknown: how good is warranty? I emailed Induro with a question about the specifications--never received a reply. Called customer service and left a voice mail regarding a registration error--Induro never called back. The poor customer service that I have experienced suggests that if a warranty claim or service is needed it may be difficult to obtain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, outstanding customer service I purchased this tripod due to my height. I was using a much more expensive, and shorter tripod. I saw this tripod on Birds as Art blog, the cost/height of L version looked attractive. While the tripod is larger, it has 4 leg segments and packs smaller than my much more expensive shorter tripod. The thicker legs/locks provide a very stable platform for my gimble/telephoto system. I notice a crack around one of the square holes in the tops of a leg tube. I contacted the US rep, and they immediately made arrangements to replace the leg tube. Not only is this tripod a great value compared to much more expensive carbon fiber tripods, the customer service has been stellar. I am a very happy customer, and suggest this to anyone 6' or taller, and using a heavy lens system. Tim

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Customer Service to go with a Poor product Purchased in July of 2017, one of the legs continually comes apart, nothing but the runaround via customer support trying to resolve this. I do not recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding solid and lightweight tripod!! This is by far the most solid and stable tripod I have ever owned; and it is lightweight to boot. Although I have not owned either a Gitzo or Really Right Stuff tripod, I have used the Gitzo equivalent and this Induro is every bit as stable and well built. Highly recommended.
