    Induro CLT203 reviews

CLT203 Classic Series 2 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solid, lightweight tripod for field trips I primarily take wildlife and landscape images. For wildlife I have a 150-600 mm lens that needs good support. This tripod was an excellent selection. It is very sturdy and still lightweight enough to take on field trips. The legs are independently adjustable and the tripod came with a short center column in addition to the standard column. This allows me to get very low to the ground when taking images of wildlife. I'm only 68 tall so I thought about going with the CLT103, but after comparing the heights with a neighbor's tripod I decided the extra few inches were worth the extra money. I'm glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Induro clt203 carbon fiber tripod After much deliberation and collecting of information, reviews, user comments, I decided to purchase this to replace my 80s-purchased Bogen 3020 aluminum tripod. As I grew older, it grew heavier and, even though I think it a very decent tripod, the Induro 203 is a marvelous replacement. It is a couple of pounds lighter, sturdier (no flex in the legs), similar 3-angle setting for the legs, very easy twist open/close leg locks, included short center replacement column. i have a Sirui K-40x ballhead (also a BHPhoto purchase. I could not be happier with this purchase nor with BH service. The tripod is very easybto transport (bag and strap included) and use for micro (Nikon 105 macro) and landscape photography (Nikon 16-85 & 70-300 lenses). i am VERY happy with the Induro tripod and recommend it highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding tripod for my needs I've had this tripod on several birding outings now. The tripod supports my 4.1 lb spotting scope and 2.2 lb head very well, with a very solid feel and no squishy flexing of the legs. The twist-locks are trouble free. They are only slightly slower to setup than lever-locks, but do not get snagged by vegetation like lever locks sometimes do. The foam pad on each leg assures you always have padding when the tripod is shouldered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this tripod I like everything about this tripod. The carbon tubing is large diameter, very stiff. The clamp for the center post is rock solid. Open the leg clamps half a turn and there is never any stickiness as the legs are extended or retracted. It takes maybe a minute to invert the center column, allowing the camera to be within a fraction of an inch of ground level. I've had four pounds of kit mounted, with the center column halfway extended; no problems. (That put the camera at eye level; I'm 5' 10.) I expect the tripod will do fine with the five pound maximum load that I have in mind. For super-critical applications (long exposure landscapes, say), I observe the usual precautions--keep the center column retracted, keep small diameter tubes retracted when possible, delay shutter activation a couple of seconds, etc. I do this because any tripod will give its best results under those conditions, not because this tripod gives me any reason to doubt its capability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid I've upgraded to this tripod from a Vanguard carbon fiber model. This tripod is light weight, yet feels sturdy and has a high quality feel to it. I have a Sunwayfoto XB-52 ballhead on it. I walk long distances shooting landscapes. Easy to carry and very solid when you set it. I'm very happy with this tripod and highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delighted I conducted considerable research before I bought the Induro CLT203 tripod. I also purchased the Induro ball head BHL2s separately. I am extremely please with both my carbon fiber tripod and ball head combination. I am a serious landscape enthusiast and this tripod has been in some serious terrane and weather conditions and has performed flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising quality at half the price of the name brand! After purchasing and returning a somewhat more expensive tripod by another manufacturer, I was resigned to having to pony up for a Gitzo. The tripod I returned had received excellent reviews, but I found it to have too much flex in the legs, and its twist locks twisted but did not really lock. Twice, the tripod started to collapse of its own accord. So I went to the B&H Superstore to examine the various Gitzos, even though I was reluctant to spend that much (I had the gnawing feeling that I was being asked to pay a big premium for Gitzo's reputation, rather than for any measurable superiority in quality). As I discovered when I examined the Gitzos, they are, in fact, superb instruments, beautifully designed, tooled, and engineered -- a quantum leap above the brand I originally purchased. On a whim, though, I went over to the Induro rack and looked at their offerings. What I found was that Induro had largely copied the best features of the Gitzos. Their tripods are solid, well designed, and light weight. While they don't quite have the feel of fine precision the Gitzos provide, they come very close, are functionally equal, and cost less than half the price of the Gitzos. Sold! Since purchasing my Induro tripod, I have reconfirmed my original assessment through practical use. It's a lovely instrument that gives solid, secure support, yet is light weight enough to carry along on hikes. What more can you ask of a tripod?
