I can’t say with 100% certainty, because I haven’t tried, but there’s no reason why it shouldn’t. Worth buying the lens either way in my opinion. The price to quality can’t be beat. Great lens!

The lens has no connection points for a hood other than the filter threads. The only way to use a hood with this lens is to use something that attaches to the filter threads.

Will the autofocus and image stabilization work with an adapted canon m50?
The Yongnuo YN 35mm f/2 Lens for Canon EF will Autofocus on that camera when using the proper adapter. The Canon EF-M Lens Adapter Kit for Canon EF / EF-S Lenses linked here will be a good adapter for this. https://bhpho.to/2PtpkBU. This lens is not a stabilized lens and so will not have image stabilization when used with or without an adapter.

How well does this work for shooting the Milky Way? Compared to the Canon 50mm f/18?
The 35mm focal length is a better lens for astro, the low light capability compared to the 50mm 1.8 is negligible. A lens with a faster aperture would be ideal, like an f/1.4. Rokinon/Samyang make good fast primes that aren't too expensive.
