The scaler works great until it doesn't work. You lose all image when it decides to go. For me it is about every 10 minutes. Then you have to reset the entire thing and hope it doesn't happen again. I would recommend this for anyone as is.

when it works it works good

Well we have component to every TV location, newer tv hdmi only, it kind of works, first off the volume has to be cranked up, near double to get the same level, and every so often it causes lines on the TV or just does not work, ive been over all the wireing. you go back to component and all good again, really wish someone made a totally foolproof converter even at a higher price as it would be near impossible to run hdmi to all m y tv locations

Will this convert an analog 8mm video tape via camcorder to digital onto an external hard drive via laptop?
Asked by: Jane
You would need to use this device to change your analog 8mm signal to HDMI and then connect that to a capture device (i.e. this Blutec USB model - https://bhpho.to/38fhT8F), which would then allow you to have your computer perceive the incoming signal in the same way it would see a webcam.

Will this scale 1080p HDMI in to 720p component out? Will it extract HDMI audio to DD 5.1 bitstream through the coax out? Thanks.
Asked by: Doug
Yes it can scale 1080p HDMI in to 720p/60 out, video goes out both the Composite and Component video ports at the same time, in fact if you just press the 720p/60 button on the bottom of the remote then everything will be done. Audio is also extracted and will go out both the S/PDIF audio port and L & R RCA audio jacks, it samples audio at 48 KHz.
