The HT Studio 20 Head from Blackstar is a 20W tube amplifier for guitar that uses two EL34 power tubes and two ECC83 preamp tubes, and has two footswitchable channels with built-in digital reverb, an effects loop with a level control switch (+4 dBV or -10 dBV), a 12" Celestion speaker, as well as a stereo speaker emulated out for recording or driving headphones. Blackstar's proprietary ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit works in conjunction with the tone control for fine-tuning, so you can effectively dial in the specific sound you desire. Its small size and versatile features make the HT Studio 20 an ideal amp for use in recording studios, for live performance, practice, and more.
The HT Studio 20 features separate Clean and Overdrive channels. The Clean channel provides a wide range of clean and moderately overdriven tones with voicing that is typical of many amplifiers with Class A type performance. The overall character may be adjusted with the Tone control from dark and warm, through to bright and sparkling.
The Overdrive channel is characterized by a tone which is high in gain, but lacks any of the detached top-end fizz found in similar amps. The preamplifier and power amplifier deliver natural-sounding overdrive that will clean up nicely as the guitar's volume is reduced, even at the most extreme settings. The Overdrive channel also features Bass. Middle and Treble EQ controls, along with the ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) control. Working together, these controls offer an infinite number of alternative tone choices.
Finally, the guitar amplifier's two-channel design has been optimized for either preamp or power amp overdrive, or a combination of both with lush tube tones. The amp's natural-sounding digital reverb enhances the clean and crunch tones. The included one-way footswitch allows you to switch between the Clean and Overdrive channels.
