RedNet 1 from Focusrite is an eight-channel, remote controlled input/output analog audio interface that uses the Dante digital audio networking system to bring studio quality sound to any modern audio application. The unit features 24-bit A-D and D-A conversion for excellent audio performance, with 119 dB of dynamic range at sample rates up to 192 kHz. Rock-stable JetPLL clocking and premium multi-layered board circuitry further facilitate the delivery of uncompromised audio.

There are three methods of connecting the RedNet 1 to a computer using a single Ethernet cable. These are via an optional RedNet PCIe card (for ASIO and Core Audio applications), directly into the computer's Ethernet port using DVS (Dante Virtual Soundcard) software where near zero latency is not essential, or through an existing RedNet 5 interface for connecting directly to Pro Tools HD, Pro Tools HDX and Pro Tools HD Native.
The RedNet PCIe Card from Focusrite is PCIe card that provides connectivity between a computer and other RedNet peripherals and delivers up to 128 channels I/O with under 3 ms latency (with the appropriate buffer settings). The dedicated card fits into a Windows or Mac computer with a 4-lane PCI Express card slot, and a standard RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet connector links the audio computer to the rest of the network via a GigE switch.
