iOptron 8434 Overview

Connect compatible iOptron mounts to iOS and Android mobile devices with the StarFi Adaptor. The adapter generates its own WiFi signal to directly connect and control your mount with a smartphone or tablet, enabling you to use astronomy software such as Sky Safari. You can also connect the mount through iOptron ASCOM driver and Commander to use your favorite planetarium software.

    • Requires DB9 RS232 male to male connector and an iOptron RS232-RJ9 cable

    • Requires an iOptron RS232-RJ9 cable #8412 and DYI power source

    • Does not support Cube/MiniTower/SmartStar PR mounts

This along with my 30pro and sky safari is just the cats meow! For a simple wireless connection to your ioptron mount, I just don't see how you can go wrong. Had zero problem connecting to iPhone or iPad first time.

Combined with my iEQ45 Pro and the ioptron commander software, this is so far beyond my expectations.

The iOptron StarFi Adapter is not supported for use with the AZ Mount Pro Head.

Does it work both from any standard web browser AND from a smartphone app (iPhone & Android)?

The iOptron StarFi Adapter uses the SkySafari from Simulation Curriculum Corp for the app. There is no limitation for the web browser when using your computer.
