iOptron MiniTower Pro Alt-Azimuth Mount with Tri-Pier & Case

Building on the success of their Cube and MiniTower mounts, iOptron upgraded the payload capacity and speed to make the MiniTower Pro Alt-Azimuth Mount, then added their sturdy and portable tri-pier support system to create a versatile, solid, and powerful observation platform for near and deep sky astronomy. This highly flexible motorized computer-controlled unit is ideal for most star gazing or astrophotography duties with the ability to function as a dual-mount for two OTAs. Both axis motors are built into a small single unit which is compatible with all telescope OTAs with a Vixen or larger Losmandy dovetail plate up to 33 lb including accessories. The unique design eliminates dead spots enabling you to point your telescope to any point above the horizon, unlike other mounts which tend to block the telescope tube at certain points of rotation. A secondary Vixen-style plate is included and replaces the counterweight to enable a dual-OTA setup. This additional mounting option makes this mount ideal for observation/astrophotography rigs, star parties, or other specialized observational requirements. This secondary mounting point has a maximum payload capacity of 10 pounds making it ideal for smaller refractors or Cassegrain scopes. A hard carrying case for the mount and accessories is included for safe storage and transport, while the Tri-Pier combines the strength and stability of a pier with the portability and leveling flexibility of a tripod to provides a rock-solid support system for the mount without requiring permanent installation.
