This version of the BAE 1066D Mic/Line Preamp Module is completely hand-wired using Carnhill (St. Ives) transformers and has the same mic-line pre-amp as the 1073 with the exception that the unit adds a few new frequencies to the pallet.
Popular among guitarists for its unique mid-range, the preamp offers up to 80 dB of gain and ±16 dB selectable high frequency shelving at 10 kHz, 12 kHz, 16 kHz, and 24 kHz. It also offers ±16 dB shelving at selectable frequencies of 35 Hz, 60 Hz, 110 Hz, and 220 Hz.
For mids, it offers ±16 dB peaking at selectable center frequencies of 700 Hz, 1.2 kHz, 2.4 kHz, 3 kHz, and 7 kHz. An 18 dB/octave high pass filter can be switched between 45 Hz, 70 Hz, 160 Hz and 360 Hz. An EQ button and a 180° phase button complete the preamplifier's controls.
