RECONYX HC500 Overview

Capture 3.1MP images of wildlife, other hunters, or trespassers with the HyperFire HC500 Semi-Covert IR Trail Camera from RECONYX. It features a discreet Lo-glow infrared flash with a 50' range. Benefit from a CMOS image sensor and a passive infrared motion-detection sensor with a 0.2-sec trigger speed and a 100' range, as well as flexible time-lapse interval recording to maximize your opportunities for great photos.

The HyperFire also offers a backlit LCD status/menu screen for easy navigation and settings selection. Captured images are recorded onto optional SDHC memory cards up to 32GB in capacity. The camera runs on 12 user-supplied AA batteries, which are easy to find and replace.

As an added bonus, the camera includes the BuckView Advanced mapping and image management Software CD-ROM for Windows. Utilizing Google Maps technology, this program allows you to organize your images geographically and access them with ease. Additionally, it helps you track patterns and understand animal movements and behaviors. You can add camera locations, food plots, tree stands, and more.

CMOS Image Sensor and 3.1MP Resolution
Takes 3.1MP color images by day and black-and-white shots at night. Will also capture RapidFire NearVideo sequences of 2.1MP still images at up to 2 frames per sec. Ultra HD IR lens provides sharper, clearer images than previous camera models could deliver.
Motion Sensor
Passive infrared motion-activated sensor with rapid 0.2-sec trigger speed and 100' range ensures that shots are not missed. It is precisely aligned with the camera's lens. This sensor detects changes in temperature that occur when subjects move, and captures images in response. Features two horizontal detection bands and twelve different zones within the bands. Sensitivity can be set to low, low-medium, medium, medium-high, or high. Number of pictures per trigger can be set to 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10, and the interval between triggers is your choice of 1, 3, 5, or 10 sec.

Quiet period, the time after a trigger during which camera will not respond to motion, is also selectable in durations of 15 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min, or 5 min, and you can also choose to have no delay. WalkTest mode allows you to determine your camera's active motion detection zones with precision, ensuring that the camera is aimed exactly where you want to capture animal activity. Motion sensor can be turned on or off but cannot be scheduled.
Time-Lapse Shooting
Flexible time-lapse interval recording is also possible, allowing you to record and view change over time and keep track of patterns in various conditions. Choose 1, 5, 15, 30, or 60-min intervals between shots. Starting and ending times for the time-lapse sequences can be selected in one-hour increments during the day and night.
Display
Small, backlit LCD status/menu screen for easy navigation and settings selection.
Flash
Designed to be discreet, camera features a Lo-glow infrared flash with a nighttime range of 50'.
Image Data
Time, date, temperature, and moon phase (new, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full, waning gibbous, last quarter, or waning crescent) can be stamped on images. By recording the moons' phase at the time of capture on your photo, the camera allows you to see which animals are inactive during a full or nearly-full moon--when brighter lighting conditions will make them more visible to predators. Moon phases also help you determine if brighter or darker backgrounds in images are due to fullness of moon.
Memory
Captured images are recorded onto optional SDHC memory cards up to 32GB in capacity.
QuickSet Options
Include Trail, Scrape, and Feeder settings. Trail gives you 3 pictures per trigger with a 1-second interval between images and no quiet period for motion sensor. Scrape is set to 5 pictures per trigger and uses the RapidFire interval setting with no quiet period. Feeder mode takes 3 pictures per trigger at 5-second intervals with a 15-sec quiet period.
Additional Settings and Options
Balanced mode offers the best combination of image quality, shutter speed, and flash range. High Quality mode gives you better images with reduced flash range. Fast Shutter increases shutter speed to reduce motion blur but also decreases flash range. Max Range setting gives your flash a greater reach but reduces image quality.

Add a label (up to 16 characters) that will be included with all photos taken by your camera. You can also view, change, or clear an existing label.
Power
Runs on 12 user-supplied Alkaline, NiMH, or Lithium AA batteries, which are easy to find and replace.
Durability
Rugged, weatherproof design with gasket seal to withstand the elements over extended periods of outdoor use. Breathable vent underneath latch of camera allows air pressure inside camera case/housing to equalize while keeping water out. Camera is built to withstand temperatures from -20 to 120°F.
Software
Includes BuckView Advanced mapping and image management Software CD-ROM for Windows. Utilizing Google Maps technology, this program allows you to organize your images geographically and access them with ease. Additionally, it helps you track patterns and understand animal movements and behaviors. You can add camera locations, food plots, tree stands, and more. The "quick tag" feature enables you to tag specific bucks and add them to your "Hit List." Plus, enjoy the ability to upload and share your RECONYX photos via Facebook and Twitter. Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, or 7.
