These were a really affordable purchase! I thought they would be delivered empty and I'd have to fill them myself but they came to my door in a heavy box. Two bags at 20 lbs each. Perfect for holding light stands securely, C-Stands, audio booms, etc.

Not long lasting, too tall for c stands

They're good. For a bit. But be gentle with them because after a year of being used (thrown around a couple times) the stitching is super weak and a seam will bust. They're also too tall for most c stands so you cant just drape over the tall leg. Only reason we get these is cause they come filled so we save on sand and they're cheap. But you get what you pay for.

Always with me on location

I always take these with me where ever I go that require stands for lighting or backgrounds. They are indispensable for the safety of people and equipment, whether I am shooting indoors or out. I like the orange color because they stand out visually and are not an issue for the photography I do. If people can see them they are less likely to run into them or forget them.

Exactly What I Needed

Whether it's C-stands, or tripods, or boom arms, sooner or later you will need to weigh them down for safety. These bags are great! They are pre-filled which is a rarity nowadays and they do not leak, so I definitely recommend them. I bought one originally to see how good they were and I have just bought three more. Well-made and do exactly what they are designed to do.

These Sandbacks work really well with Pipe and Drape Bases. They look clean and professional, and handle being thrown around.

What is the recommended weight of the sandbag for stabilizing an Aputure 300d with Light Dome II on a Matthew C-stand? Thanks.

Generally, you could get away with having up to two of these bags on the C-stand in optimal conditions. However, it's never a bad idea to have more counterweight on hand for added safety.

Is it hard to remove a portion of the sand...ie is it sealed? I may want to use it as a counterweight on a boom arm on a tripod and 15 may be too much and 5 too little so I may want to adjust.

Unzip the side and take some sand out of the bag, put it back in and zip it up.

What weight bag is best for the hollywood c stand?
Asked by: louis
There is no specific recommended sandbag weight for C-stands. Ultimately, it would depend on the total load you are placing on the C-stand. It would be good to have a similar weight of sandbags on the base of the light stand as the weight of the item on the top of the light stand. (However, personally, you can never have too many sandbags, especially from a safety standpoint).
