Manfrotto MK190XPRO3-BHQ2 overview

  • 1Description

The MK190XPRO3-BHQ2 Aluminum Tripod from Manfrotto pairs the MT190XPRO3 aluminum tripod legs with the MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head with a 200PL quick release clamp and plate. The tripod can hold up to 15.4 lb, extend to 67.5", and weighs 5.5 lb. The legs use the Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up, you can use the tripod's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature.

Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. You can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider. Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg grips on two legs for comfort in cold weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position.

The included ball head lets you fine tune your adjustments thanks to separate knobs for both the ball and the 360° panning, as well as a friction control knob for more exacting placement. The 200PL quick-release clamp and plate allow for quick camera attachment and removal, and two bubble levels let you adjust your camera so the horizon is level. A numbered scale around the base of the head makes repeating exact pans an easy task.

  • MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod

The black, redesigned MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod from Manfrotto builds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

    Fast Setup with QPL
The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.
    90° Column
One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.
    Easy Link Plug
The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.
    Rotating Leveling Bubble
The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.
    Leg Angle Selectors
Each leg has user selection of 4 angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.
Manfrotto's Eye to Style and Design Detail
The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Manfrotto MK190XPRO3-BHQ2 reviews

MK190XPRO3-BHQ2 Aluminum Tripod with XPRO Ball Head and 200PL QR Plate is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tripod, Quick Setup I bought the 190XPRO3 with XPRO Magnesium Ball Head and 200PL Plate as it is a moderate weight tripod which allows very quick change in configuration and mounting of my camera. Speed is improved by 3 section legs (vs 4 section), quick lock levers on the legs, and the incredibly quick centre column switching for horizontal use. Overall these features make setup a snap. Legs can be set at a number of angles, allowing you to get right down to the ground. Very stable and rigid. Rubber cover on the top sections of two legs for comfort when using in very cold tempertures. The XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with 200PL plate provides very quick mounting/dismounting with a safety latch that minimizes the chance of accidental release of your camera, without interfering with attachment. I'm buying an additional plate for other bodies/lenses (easy to come by as it's Manfrotto). I've not noticed any drift with my Canon 7Dmk2 and Canon 100-400mm IS II lens on the head. Pano movement and levels are standard. I looked at a lot of tripods and changed my mind several times before buying this one. Not disappointed at all. Would purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tripod Nothing to complain about. It's heavy enough to be sturdy but not to heavy where you would leave it at home. I like being able to adjust the friction on the ball head, I put the Nikon 200-500 lens on it and you could adjust it where it wouldn't tilt in any direction on its own, but you could still move it when intended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only tripod you'll need I use this product for professional architectural photography as well as video production with Manfrotto's 700RC2 Composite Video Head. Expect nothing but the best out of this well crafted Italian-made tripod. I've had other tripods in the past not withstand a year of moderately-low usage. This thing is exactly what I need as a working photographer on the go! It's sturdy, strong and easy to use. Makes a good system to also have a Manfrotto monopod which shares the same quick-release plate. Great price from B&H; could of easily spent this much on just the tripod legs from other stores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manfrotto Magic I absolutely love the versatility of this tripod, with my business I do a little bit of everything; when I do product photography it has always been a challenge to get the camera in an exact position when it come to overall lighting of the image, the neck of this tripods extends horizontally which is incredible. My last product shoot several days ago went smoother and quicker because I was not adjusting my camera and then the lighting and so on...thank you Manfrotto!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect tripoid Easy to use, love the control, and when you locked the camera is really locked in the position you wanted. I was afraid of the review that posted cons as bulky an heavyweight. Now that I had one No regrets....the perfect tripod for my use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality I like everything about this tripod, except the lack of a way to hang weight off the center pole for ballast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this item again. Have used the tripod for sometime now. I have found that when I use my Canon 6d and battery pack with the Canon 70-200 2.8, The system is very stable and no movement or droop. Very satisfied.
Date published: 2016-09-19
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Top Heavy This would be fine with a DSLR, but with a 501 HDV video head and larger Panasonic camera - the tripod is very top heavy and falls over easy.
