Hasselblad T* E Overview

Encompassing a versatile set of focal lengths and featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture, the Vario-Tessar T* E 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS from Hasselblad is a wide-angle to short telephoto zoom E-mount lens for APS-C-format mirrorless digital cameras. The optical design incorporates three aspherical elements, as well as one Advanced Aspherical (AA) element, to minimize spherical aberrations and distortions throughout the zoom range. One extra-low dispersion glass element has also been included to reduce chromatic aberrations for increased sharpness and clarity. Complementing the lens design, a Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating has been applied to individual elements to control lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color fidelity in strong lighting conditions.

Benefitting the optical qualities of the lens, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization has also been incorporated to lessen the appearance of camera shake when working handheld in low-light conditions or shooting with slower shutter speeds. An internal focusing design maintains the overall length during operation and also helps to quicken focusing speeds, and a rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality when using selective focus techniques.

Wide-angle to short telephoto zoom offers a 24-105mm equivalent focal length range when used with APS-C-format sensors.
Constant f/4 maximum aperture enables consistent performance throughout the zoom range and benefits working in dim lighting conditions at longer focal lengths.
Four aspherical elements, including one AA element, reduce spherical aberrations and help to minimize the overall size and weight of the lens.
One extra-low dispersion glass element works to suppress chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased sharpness and clarity.
Zeiss T* coating controls surface reflections and flare for improved contrast and color accuracy.
Optical SteadyShot image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake to benefit handheld shooting in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds.
Internal focusing design only moves the middle groups of elements for changing focus, which maintains the overall length of the lens during use, quickens focusing speeds, and helps to achieve a minimum focusing distance of 13.8". Additionally, the front filter ring of the lens does not rotate during use to better enable working with circular polarizers and graduated ND filters.

question

Does it work without adapter on the Sony A7?
Asked by: Christian
Yes, and no. On the E mount, it's perfect. On the FE mount, you will have vignetting unless you tell your A7 to shoot in crop mode (10MP).

question

I have read that many sony/zeiss Tessar 16-17 lenses have been returned by dissatisfied customers. Is this a new lens or a customer return? What is the return policy for this lens?
Asked by: David
All items in our inventory would be new, unless clearly stated otherwise on the item's page. And for the most part, no used or refurbished items will come up in a search unless you are specifically looking in our Used Department. Should you be dissatisfied with an order, you have 30 days from date of purchase to make a return with all of the original materials included. Full details on our return policy can be found at the following link: http://bhpho.to/19fUBwL

question

What does the EXIF say for this lens? I'm curious if it says it's the Sony lens or not.
Asked by: Anonymous
The EXIF data would not be effected and would still say Sony. White box items were purchased from another vendor aside from the Manufacturer. The item has been removed from a previously packaged kit, and resold it to us as a single component. Being that it was removed from their kit, we repackage it in a generic box. It is still a genuine Sony lens and will come with all the same warranty/accessories etc. that the original manufacturers packaged version would contain.
