In addition to the replaceable cinema-style drive gear that comes with the lens control motor, the kit includes four different replacement gears with gear MODs of 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0, in case you have to drive lenses with non-cine-style gearing or plastic lens gears. The included gear re-locator allows you to use lenses that focus in the opposite direction from standard, without having to alter your focus-pulling technique for those lenses. The kit fits into a waterproof case with foam inserts to protect your equipment during transport and storage.

CINEGEARS Motor Gear Re-Locator

The CINEGEARS Motor Gear Re-Locator consists of a chrome plated stainless steel spacer that allows you to position your drive gears about 0.5" from the normal gear location when using your CINEGEARS motors. The spacer is made of the same material, chrome-plated stainless steel, as the inside of the CINEGEARS metal gear to prevent gear stripping. Included with the gear spacer is an attachment screw, which is needed to attach your drive gear to your motor with the spacer in place.

CINEGEARS Single Axis Wireless Motor Power Cable

The CINEGEARS Single Axis Wireless Motor Power Cable provides power to your motor from an optional power source outfitted with a D-tap connector. The cable features a D-tap connector on one end and a 2-pin LEMO connector on the other. The cable features plastic insulation, and it can handle from 12 to 28 VDC.

Approximately 44" long
LEMO connector prevents polarity reversal when use with CINEGEARS motor.

Poor customer service and faulty design

I bought this follow focus second hand online for a cheap price and from the start it had lag problems as well as constant connexion loss with the motor. Even in close proximity (and I found a fix to it, if you're interested keep reading) I tried to contact Cinegears many times about my problem, but they never replied. (Thanks guys by the way, it really gives trust in your products... especially at that price range, for me, this is a real joke.) The design is good and the use very easy. It has some nice features like setting up 4 different tracking points for the focus, the manual engraved at the back of the hand unit etc. The kit comes with lots of accessories and options, but for me, the motor is too heavy though. Also the polarity of the Lemo 2 is reversed on mine and the cable is way too short (+ and - are reversed compared to the normal nomenclature) Overall the product looks good and sturdy except the part with the antenna included inside the hand unit. You straight away can see it's a poor quality rubber antenna and a real terrible idea to place it there without anything to stop it from moving. Mine was moving from the start. So I've decided - since the product was not under warranty and Cinegears is ignoring their customers - to open up the hand unit and see if maybe it was not just a problem of soldering a cable with the antenna or something like that. And bingo! The cable of the antenna was shattered to its base inside the hand unit. And the two parts of that cable were not touching properly. And this is why I said earlier the design of that part is very poor, because, what is actually happening there, with that cheap rubber antenna, it's that the rubber part of the antenna can freely spin on itself on the outside, but it does also twist and spin the antenna cable inside the hand unit because nothing is there to stop it. So it would just twist and spin inside the hand unit until it just breaks. Then, once the cable is broken in half, the two halves are touching randomly from time to time according to the rubber position, and it is giving you all the signal loss and lag you can imagine. I've dropped photos down here to show the results, just so people may be able to fix theirs in case they also have a hard time reaching customer service. Now my unit is working fine, I've tested it indoor and outdoor with pretty good results. Working fine from an other room inside my flat and having aroun 30 meters (more or less 100 feet) of capacity outside in a center city with people and phones around etc. For info I've used 3Dbi and 10Dbi antennas as well as Lollipop 5.8Ghz antennas and the one working the best is the later (weird I know) Also, at that price range you'd be expecting something a little better but it can do. As soon as you don't pay the full price for it. Also, I'd rather buy a Movcam MCS or even a Tilta Nucleus rather than this if I had to do it again. Hope the guys who had same issues as me here can find this useful and maybe a way to fix theirs Cheers

awesome also

question

I've went throug all spec and in the box and cannot find anything that justifies this plus version being almost 300 more than the regular version. Why is that?

According to Cinegears, The Express Plus Controller sports a larger focus wheel with the hard stop function which is more fluid, and precise, and it feels better in your hand. Weve added a mounting harness on the side of the controller so you can use it like a finger wheel. The kit also includes a thick magnetic marking disc, and the redesigned Lemo cable. It now has a right angle, which will help keep the wires on your rig clean.
