Tamrac T0910-1919 overview

  • 1Description

Whether shooting street, action photography, and everything in between, photographers will appreciate the black, Tamron Corona 20 Convertible Pack's ability to quickly convert from a traditional backpack to a left or right-handed sling bag. Your Corona is designed to store, protect and organize your medium DSLR, lenses and accessories in a main compartment with touch-fastening dividers. A second, padded, rear compartment will hold a laptop or tablet. For versatility, gear may be accessed from the top, front, or sides. The top zippered compartment stores items requiring fast access as well as the seam-sealed rain cover. Underneath the top and front lids are drop-down lids with clear, zippered, pockets for small accessories.

Running down the front exterior are daisy chain attachment points for securing a tripod and other items. Photographers wishing to avail themselves of Tamrac's extensive line of accessories will welcome the side ARC / M.O.L.L.E. attachment points. Carry your Corona pack with the padded top handle or harness with adjustable shoulder straps, and sternum strap. For comfort, cushioning, and improved airflow, the back panel is made of padded mesh. Converting the pack to sling usage is quickly accomplished by removing the sternum strap, stowing unneeded shoulder strap in the lower section, and clipping the bottom of the remaining shoulder strap to a ring on the opposite side of the pack. The result, is a fast, and streamlined conversion.

    Tamrac T0910-1919 reviews

Corona 20 Convertible Pack (Black) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag - just the right size I was looking for a bag that I could have easy access from the side (sling) as well as big enough for my major equipment, a sandwich and maybe light rain gear for a day of shooting. This bag fits the bill. I initially ordered a Corona 26 - beautiful bag but too large for my liking. I wanted something that could also travel easily as a computer bag on airlines. I have a Canon 5D Mark III with a 24-70 2.8 lens as my standard lens. I keep this on the camera in the bag. I add to my standard kit a 16-35 and a 70-200. Both easily fit into the bag with even enough room for a flash if I want to bring it. In the top compartment I have all of my filters, notebook, time release, little flashlight, sunglasses etc. I still have room for a sandwich. It would be a tight fit to push in a light raingear, but I think I could if I needed it. It is easy to fasten my tripod onto the back of the pack, but often I have that in my hand anyway when walking. The only think I haven't figured out is a water bottle, but perhaps that can be fastened onto the belt with an add on. All in all a lovely pack. It doesn't hold all of my gear, but I don't want to take all of my gear out into the field.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really wanted to like this back pack We really wanted to like this backpack. It is very well made and the straps fit well on me (6'3) and my wife who is petite. I really liked the ability to convert to a sling bag. The problem is the layout of the compartments. There are two distinct compartments, the bottom for the camera and lenses and the top for other stuff. We were putting in a Canon Mark5 a 70 - 200 and multiple other lenses, the ONLY configuration that it would fit is if the 70-200 is actually on the camera, there is no other way to carry the big lense, it just will not fit except in the middle. IF the would just open up the pack so that the entire interior were configurable to carry lenses it would be great. If you don't carry or want to carry any larger lenses then this may work for you but for us it doesn't. This one is going back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pack review I was looking for a versatile pack to take to Ecuador. The Tamrac Corona 20 looked promising. After getting it and packing it, trying it with all variations of the straps I would have to say that's it's heavy and uncomfortable. The straps are versatile, but very uncomfortable. The straps are not ergonomically comfortable. They do work. All the compartments are nice and useful. Its unfurtunate that the water proof cover isn't connected and incorporated in the design. It is a separate pouch that has to be packed. So now it takes up space.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from May not fit under seat I didn't buy mine at B&H because I wanted to see and feel it. The pictures all show lenses fitting snugly in their compartments. What you don't see is the lens hoods. You have to figure out where to stuff them in. On my first flight I was on an MD90 and the bag fit underneath the seat. On the return flight I was on an Airbus A220 and the bag did not fit under the seat. The seat came down too low. I estimate about 12.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A very useful intermediate size backpack for photography No camera bag is perfect! Important to me is distributing the weight evenly on the shoulders and/or hips. Kit to be carried includes Canon 5D MkIII, 24-105, 70-300, 100mm macro, Lee filters and holders, tripod and miscellaneous things. I have used a Lowepro Inverse 200 AW BeltPack for hiking and general photowalks for some years and have really liked it. However, as I get older (I am now 74) I have been finding it bothersome to have the weight fully on my hips. I also have a Tenba Shootout Backpack 32L. I love it! Fits lots of my kit, is highly adjustable, is really comfortable to carry, etc. I could not ask for more. But, when fully loaded, it is quite heavy. That said, sometimes I do not need to carry it all! I could unload what I would not need for a given situation, but the pack is larger than necessary for hiking, vacation and city shoots, etc. While I have hiked with it fully loaded, the weight is more than I want at my age and the size is more than I want on a hike or in a city. So, I was in the market for something smaller for hiking, vacation shoots, city shooting, etc. I wanted a backpack so that weight could be distributed on shoulders and hips. I looked hard at the LowePro Fastpack models and was, in fact ready to purchase one when I became aware of the Tamrac Corona 20 Convertible Pack. Size and weight seemed about right, I thought the ability to convert to a sling could be useful in some situations, access through the front and both sides seemed possibly useful, so I made the purchase (with the thought of returning it if needed). Let me give my conclusion before giving details: The bag is a keeper although not perfect. The first task was to arrange the dividers to hold the 5DMkIII; I decided I needed to do so with 70-300mm lens on even though the lens could fit (barely) elsewhere. On the one hand, this was fairly simple. But, there was quite a bit of space above the lens that allowed movement. I tried
