Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta Satin Overview

Realize the full potential of your digital darkroom with this 24" x 39' roll of FineArt Baryta Satin Paper from Hahnemuhle. It has a 100% alpha cellulose base with a baryta (barium sulphate) coating that is reminiscent of traditional darkroom papers. This coating also works with the microporous ink-receiving layer for exceptional image sharpness with a wide color gamut and high Dmax. This makes the heavy 300 gsm paper well-suited for black & white imaging as well as color photography and fine art reproduction.

The paper itself benefits from the heft of a 14.6 mil thickness, an opacity of 98%, and a whiteness rated at 92%. For longevity, this white coloration is achieved without the use of optical brightening agents. The paper is also acid free and calcium carbonate buffered for further longevity and is easy to handle thanks to its instant drying and very high water resistance. Additionally, it has a smooth satin surface finish with a semi-gloss appearance.

Simply one of the most exquisite papers for fine art prints. Wonderful texture and subtle satin gloss. Due to its feel and weight, it also serves wonderfully for presentation prints. Devine.

My go-to paper for its excellent feel and finish and most importantly its durability. So many times I’ve accidentally moved the final print in the wrong way or bumped the corner with no denting or damage to the paper

This is a fairly heavy paper, any problems with rolling it up and shipping in a 4" mailing tube ?

It may be physically possible, but I wouldn't. After printing with this as my "go to" paper for many years now, I've found the surface coating to be delicate. For that reason, I always ship prints in flat boxes.

Which LR print settings do you use to avoid white borders? (I've tried various settings but always get a sliver of a white border on one or two sides.) Thanks!

This looks intriguing. Is it special purpose paper? One review mentions an adhesive. What are the prints meant to be attached to? Thanks.

It's the same as the full sized paper sheets or rolls. The only thing is due to the thickness of this paper & small size,, you might have to manual feed it in the larger printers (those that take up to 13x19 & above). Being so the manual feed won't recognize the 4x6 therefore you need to mount iton a larger paper. Please note this paper wont fit into the small all in one photo printers due to its thickness.
