    NEC EA275UHD reviews

MultiSync EA275UHD-BK 27" 4K UHD sRGB IPS Monitor is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommend to photographer friends This replaces an early 27, 1920 X 1080 NEC monitor used for photo edits in which fine discrimination's are made and that requires big, high resolution, color-accurate screen. I use dual monitors and this is my primary monitor for photo edits. Because of relying on dual monitors, I chose 27 instead of 30. Pixel pitch is preferred in this 27 over the NEC UHD 30. This screen has it all including enough real estate for side-by-side image comparison. Stand has easy tilt & vertical adjustment. Power consumption 49 Watts. Minimalist border with non-glare black finish. Menu offers plenty of controls. One small complaint with touch sensitive controls on lower right. Prefer back- lite controls as I can't locate in dim room while doing photo edits. Occasional inadvertent actions because of location and touch sensitivity. Not a deal breaker. Because resolution is so high (3840 X 2160), text size is very small so I changed text size to 150%. Yes, recommend this model to photographer friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you are a plasma or OLED fan... this monitor is for you. This is my first flat panel monitor. I have been using professional Sony and NEC/Mitsubishi CRT monitors for years for their better contrast, color, and easier on the eyes with text. This is the first display I have encountered worthy enough to replace my two CRTs. It has vibrant and accurate color, impressive black level, no loss of color when viewing from an angle, and its high resolution it is easy on the eyes to read text. Like all LCD/IPS monitors, there is light leakage, but it is surprisingly minimal. Even with the price being a lil higher than the usual monitor, it is well worth the money if you want a well built, color accurate display. Doesn't feel chintzy or crinkle when picked up or moved. My only recommendation when using this display, is to change the default text size from 100% to 125%.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy One! I'm an amateur enthusiast landscape photographer. So was primarily concerned with getting a high resolution color accurate monitor. In the short time that I've had it, it certainly fits the bill. Know that It is capable of producing 100% of the sRGB color gamut and a fair amount of the aRGB spectrum. At first I was determined to get a bigger monitor with 100% of the aRGB spectrum. But when I saw how much those things cost, I started doing a lot of research. And what I found out (YMMV) is that if you have to choose between resolution and color gamut (assuming that 100% sRGB is a given), you will be happier spending more for resolution. That is definitely the case for me. You have to look at how you use your images - if you are going to show them on the web (sRGB) or send them to a print lab (most are sRGB) then all you really need to be concerned with is sRGB. If you print your own images and have printers capable of higher than sRGB color or use a specialized print lab that has that capability then you probably want to use a monitor capable of producing 100% of the aRGB color gamut. Oh and this assumes you have the equipment and software and you process your images in a higher than sRGB color environment. Yes, I can speculate that more and more labs will start offering higher than sRGB capable printing services in the future. But for now, this monitor fits the bill very well. And likely will fit the bill for a long time to come. If you work and live in a primarily sRGB world, you will be extremely happy with this monitor. OH - this monitor does not come with the spectraview software and hardware. But it is capable. If you have a colorimeter, go to the NEC website and see if it is compatible. If so, all you need to do is purchase the software and you are good to go. That is what I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Display for Motion Graphics Excellent display. This is my first experience with an NEC product and I'm exceptionally pleased with the display after a few months of daily use. In the past I've used HP, Dell, and Apple displays and they worked well for my needs, but after a few months on the NEC I have trouble imagining using anything else. I spend most of my time working in After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, and Cinema4D so the huge amount of screen area has been a major game-changer. I used to split my workspace and palettes between dual displays, but with the NEC that is no longer necessary. I can keep my application contained on one display and use the other older HP display for references, storyboards, web browser, etc. The display is crisp, sharp, and very bright. Color coverage is totally adequate for my needs. No dead pixels or other weirdness. My only gripe with it is the external controls, mostly because I prefer the tactile feel of a button instead of the touch sensitive approach being used here. But aside from that very minor complaint the display is solidly constructed, looks amazing, and gives me resolution to spare. Highly recommended if you're considering a UHD display for motion graphics, 3D animation, photography or video editing. Oh, and video games looks pretty dang good on it, too :).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expected quality for the price Back light is even enough, color is bright, over all a solid monitor for graphics. The only complain I have is that there are no physical buttons like the previous models. In a room with no lights it's hard to see where is the input button to switch input. it came with a build-in speaker. It's something good to have, but the sound quality is pretty awful. I'd pay $20 more for better quality. Wish NEC made a USB soundbar for this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NEC Continues to innovate Having a super-wide gamut is not always the best choice. For web development, having an sRGB display like this that's easy to calibrate and provides even illumination from edge-to-edge, is a worthy upgrade from the now common $200 27" displays out there. A great investment in solid technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful resolution I originally wanted to purchase a 24-in. monitor but after much research opted for the 27-in. It is not too large, but instead looks great. I can fit so many open programs and the larger space makes this easy to do. The resolution is incredible. It makes great photos greater, but can also magnify the not-so-great ones. That, however, is a good point because it serves as a reminder to take the photo right the first time. All in all, this is a great monitor which I hope to have for a long time to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality build for a reasonable price Solid build, no light leaks. Very crisp. The I have an older P-series from NEC and the P-series has slightly better range of hues, but for the price the E-series is great. 27 may not seem like a lot, but at 4k resolution it is actually massive. I can't imagine getting anything larger; I wouldn't be able to fit to monitors on my desk if I did.
