    NEC EA275UHD reviews

MultiSync EA275UHD-BK-SV 27" 4K UHD sRGB IPS Monitor with SpectraViewII is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Images I purchased this NEC moniotor to do advanced amateur photo editing. The monitor is very sturdy and well built and physical adjustments (height, tilt, rotate) are easy. Since this is a brand new product, the Spectraview II software that arrived with the monitor did not contain the driver for the Spyder5 color measurement device. I had to ask for help from NEC who directed me to their website to manually download and install the driver. After that, it all went smoothly and am really enjoying using a correctly calibrated monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful graphics monitor This monitor is used for photo editing, in a setup that has two monitors. driven by a Xeon processor. It is brighter than the monitor it replaced, has high resolution, and is pretty easy to calibrate (which you need to do if you intend to print images as shown on the screen).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I should've bought 2 I'm a photographer, so a high quality calibrated monitor is what I wanted, this is it. I have another bigger monitor which isn't quite as good, should've bought 2 of these instead. It provides a high quality high resolution for use with photoshop for today's high resolution camera sensors. Only reason for 4 stars is that I have a display port connection and a dvi based computer for this monitor as well. Switching the input straight to the dvi from the display port isn't so easy, at least for me. All in all a great monitor with a great price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Monitor I've used this monitor for about a week for my day job developing software and also for photo-editing in Lightroom. It is a very bright display and the colors are gorgeous. I'm using Windows 10. Many applications have been written for Windows over the years with the implicit assumption that the OS was set to 96-dpi, which has been the default for a long time. This is a problem, since at that dpi setting the text and UI elements would appear too small on a high-dpi monitor like this one. Windows 10 seems to have good support for putting applications into a compatibility mode if they misbehave, and all of the applications provided with the OS itself function well at high-dpi as far as I have seen. When things work as they are supposed to the results are phenomenal. You can't see any individual pixels at normal viewing distance, which is an incredible experience and actually takes some getting used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not as Difficult as It's Cracked up to be !! I am primarily CC2016 user purchasing this monitor for obvious reasons. Did the research and it was astounding how complicated this marriage could be - my mid 2015 MacBook Pro and this NEC EA275UHD monitor. There are other features available that I have not addressed yet but the initial entry into the connectability of these products is fairly simple. Use nothing except the Mini-DIsplay (Thunderbolt) to display 1.2 input (Mini-DisplayPort cable 6.5 ft reasonably priced) Selecting the display density allowed me choices from 1152X647 up to UHD 3840X2160 with 10 intervals in between. Not a streaming or gaming guy so I can't speak to those areas, but for an off the wall UHD monitor supporting CC2016, can't imagine better solution. I haven't performed the color calibration yet but I am hopeful that will be just as good an experience. Frankly it's so close now it a push.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Rez Shines At Showing Feather & Fur Detail I use this monitor for processing images for printing and for sale. I need accurate and complete color gamut and brightness, such that my prints look the same as prints as they did on the monitor. Also, I Share a lot of images on Flickr and Facebook and want control of how my images look there. The SpectraView software and calibration sensor are easy to use and install on my Window 10 desktop computer. This monitor produces 100% of the sRGB gamut, but not 100% of RGB. You'll spend much, much more to get 100% of RGB. It's not worth it to me because I'm processing realistic images of wildlife, birds and travel. Some artist may need that extra control over color, but I don't find it important for my subjects. I'm always pleasantly surprised to print an image and see the added color gamut. It's never been a negative in my particular usage. A large percentage of my subjects have fur and feathers, so the 4k resolution comes in handy when applying noise reduction, sharpening or adding micro-contrast. I can easily be certain that important details are maintained and not smeared by those processes. My wildlife and bird images need to be critically sharp, so I compare similar images at 100% and 200% to select those that are perfection. This is my third SpectraView enabled NEC monitor. I've never had any trouble with any of them. My web images and printed images look like I expect them to, after processing with my NEC monitor. WYSIWYG. A great tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Monitor Great, SpectraView Instructions No So Much The color and resolution of the monitor are superb with my Mac Book Pro. It does require the addition of a Thunderbold III to DataPort cord (or adapter) to connect computer to monitor. The Users Manual for the SpectraView system if full of technical information but virtually nothing that explains how to make the connections and use the system. However Tech Support was very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to have acurately profiled monitor Use this for photo editing. Very easy to profile using the Spectra View hardware and software. Be aware that although the hardware is the same, you will not be able to use it to profile other monitors. Would be nice they would allow this or at least give you the option to purchase the generic software at a reduced price.
