This device is best suited for small electronics like smartphone chargers and computers. Appliances like hair dryers may not be compatible and there's a good chance you can damage the hair dryer.

question

Will this work in the US to charge an appliance bought in the UK that has a continental european plug?
Asked by: Jean O.
As long as the device you are plugging in will work with lower voltage in North America, you will be fine. The problem is actually going the other way - US to Euro plug voltages. I had three of these get destroyed by the higher 220 volts. I assume the surge protection must only be applicable to North America's lower 110 voltage. You should have no problems.
