The Sony FS7 Rear Insert Plate from SHAPE is a aluminum rear support plate designed for use with the Sony FS7 camera. The plate mounts to the camera body via three included screws and provides necessary support when the camera is used with the separately available SHAPE FS7BP baseplate.

My biggest gripe with the Shape FS7 V-Lock quick release baseplate was that it only secured to the camera in two spots. This piece solves that particular problem, giving you three points of contact between the base and the camera. There is a threaded screw hole dead center in front of the U. It's a shame it is not included with the plate and that it took a call to Shape to find out exactly what this piece did and how it fit into the package. However, since I feel like my rig is much more secure, it's money well spent.
