Available for download, Roots SDX Sticks from Toontrack is a Superior Drummer expansion pack offering 36 GB of sampled Jazz drums, played with sticks. These drums are suitable for much more than jazz: this sample pack can be used in anything from Blues to Hip Hop to Rock. As long as you have Superior Drummer 2.3 or later, you can make use of these samples.
The library was recorded in Blackbird's Studio A in Nashville, TN, using the best industry-renowned equipment, with an emphasis on making the sounds part of a musical expression, rather than individual monotonous hits. It features a large selection of different drums and cymbals from Pearl, Gretsch, Ludwig, Zildjian, and Paiste.
The library makes use of Blackbird Studio's vast mic lockers and classic outboard gear (Pultec EQ, Fairchild compression, and vintage gear from Telefunken, Neve, API, RCA, and Chandler). Samples were recorded by Roy "Futureman" Wooten, the noted drummer behind Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.
