Reference 3 Complete provides audio engineers with a set of tools designed to quickly deliver reference sound in the studio or on the road, by ridding speakers from room coloration, and adjusting the frequency response of selected headphones to precisely match flat and neutral-sounding studio monitors, in a well-treated studio. This allows for critical listening, and helps ensure that your mixes translates more accurately when played on other monitoring systems. Reference 3 Speaker from SONARWORKS is a speaker calibration software designed to provide accurate calibration of your studio monitors, for mixing and mastering with consistent results. It solves the problem of sound degradation due to room acoustics by combining a measurement software with a calibration DAW plug-in, to provide advanced DSP that neutralizes room coloration.

Reference 3 Speaker is fast to setup and offers a streamlined, step-by-step workflow that minimizes human errors. The software utilizes the proprietary Perceived Acoustic Power Frequency Response (PAPFR) acoustic measurement system that measures sound the way humans perceive it, and the Automatic Microphone Positioning System (AMPS) which makes optimal placement of your measurement mic effortless. The Audio Calibration Engine (ACE) then uses a set of filter modes to create a flat frequency response that precisely matches the sound of calibrated speakers in a well-treated studio.

If you wish to hear how your mix sounds on other types of monitors, the Acoustic Power Simulation (APS) function provides realistic simulations of common speakers, against which you can reference your work. In addition, the Systemwide Calibration feature allows you to hear how your tracks translate on a variety of music delivery platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, and more.

Headphone calibration provides a flat frequency response that precisely matches the sound of calibrated speakers in a well-treated studio. It produces calibration profiles for individual headphones, set with +/-3 dB or even better accuracy across the entire frequency range.
