Reference 3 Complete from SONARWORKS includes three instances of Reference 3 Speaker calibration software, three instances of Reference 3 Speaker calibration plug-ins, three instances of Reference 3 Headphone calibration plug-ins, and three instances of Reference 3 Systemwide calibration software.

Reference 3 Complete provides audio engineers with a set of tools designed to quickly deliver reference sound in the studio or on the road, by ridding speakers from room coloration, and adjusting the frequency response of selected headphones to precisely match flat and neutral-sounding studio monitors, in a well-treated studio. This allows for critical listening, and helps ensure that your mixes translates more accurately when played on other monitoring systems. In addition, the Reference 3 Systemwide calibration software allows you to hear how your tracks sound on a variety of music delivery platforms such as Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud, and more.

Note: A flat frequency response measurement microphone is required to use the Reference 3 Speaker calibration software (available separately).

  • Reference 3 Speaker - Speaker Calibration Software (3 Instances, Download)

Reference 3 Speaker from SONARWORKS is a speaker calibration software designed to provide accurate calibration of your studio monitors, for mixing and mastering with consistent results. It solves the problem of sound degradation due to room acoustics by combining a measurement software with a calibration DAW plug-in, to provide advanced DSP that neutralizes room coloration.

Reference 3 Speaker is fast to setup and offers a streamlined, step-by-step workflow that minimizes human errors. The software utilizes the proprietary Perceived Acoustic Power Frequency Response (PAPFR) acoustic measurement system that measures sound the way humans perceive it, and the Automatic Microphone Positioning System (AMPS) which makes optimal placement of your measurement mic effortless. The Audio Calibration Engine (ACE) then uses a set of filter modes to create a flat frequency response that precisely matches the sound of calibrated speakers in a well-treated studio.

If you wish to hear how your mix sounds on other types of monitors, the Acoustic Power Simulation (APS) function provides realistic simulations of common speakers, against which you can reference your work. In addition, the Systemwide Calibration feature allows you to hear how your tracks translate on a variety of music delivery platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, and more.

This download includes three instances of the Reference 3 Speaker calibration software and three instances of the Reference 3 Speaker calibration plug-ins.

Note: A flat frequency response measurement microphone is required to use this software (available separately).

    Key Features

    • Designed for speaker calibration in a studio setting — quickly delivers reference sound from your studio monitors
    • Ensures that your mix translates more accurately to other monitoring systems
    • Includes three instances of measurement software with three instances of calibration DAW plug-ins
    • Plug-ins serves as an advanced DSP to rid your monitoring from room coloration

    Measurement

Perceived Acoustic Power Frequency Response (PAPFR)
    • Proprietary acoustic measurement system that measures sound the way humans perceive it
    • Calculates acoustic power received by the listener in a defined listening spot or listening area
    • Results are accurate, stable, consistent, and repeatable
    Automatic Microphone Positioning System (AMPS)
    • Automatically locates the microphone position during measurement, using acoustic trilateration
    • Makes optimal placement of your measurement mic effortless
    • MPS enables measurement analysis to be automated, intelligent, and error-proof
    • Gives best possible measurement quality — the software knows where each measurement was made
    Setup
    • Easy setup — streamlined step-by-step intuitive process, minimizes human error

    Calibration

    Audio Calibration Engine (ACE)
    • Unique digital processing engine designed specifically for audio calibration
    • ACE engine can have up to 16,000 adjustment points during calibration
    • Fine-tuned for accurate and delicate sound processing — delivers transparent and natural sound
    Driver Range Extension (DRE)
    • DRE calculates filter adjustments to extend frequency response
    • Ensures that smaller speakers can reproduce lower frequencies - down to 20Hz
    Response Curve View
    • Add or remove various frequency response curve visualizations to your frequency graph
    • See your room sound before and after the correction
    • Look at your left and right driver response individually
    • Follow your overall phase alignment while using different filter modes
    Reference Curve Presets
    • Enhance your mixing and listening experience by choosing between predefined reference curves and speaker simulations
    • Choose between several popular speaker simulations by tilting, adding or decreasing bottom end
    Mono Monitoring
    • Option to switch your mix to mono, but still maintaining a stereo correction, giving you an easy way to check if your mix will sound good in mono
    Avoid Clipping Switch
    • Ensure that your audio output does not get become distorted when calibrated
    • Audio Calibration Engine boosts some frequencies to fill in frequency response dips, and make your speakers sound precise
    Dry/Wet Control
    • Correction curve is smoothed out when you raise or lower this knob — gradually reduce or increase the effect of a calibration
    Filter Modes
    • Select between different filter processing modes to reduce phase changes in your audio signal
    Minimum-Phase Mode
    • Reduces latency to around 1ms
    • Use when tracking instruments
    Linear-Phase Mode
    • Best suited when working at the mixing, mastering, and post-production stages
    Mixed-Phase Mode
    • “Best-of-both-worlds” solution offering good middle-ground between latency and CPU load
    Acoustic Power Simulation (APS)
    • Realistic simulation of different loudspeakers based on acoustic power
    • Allows you to hear how your mixes sound on other common audio systems

    Systemwide Calibration

    • Helps calibrate your outgoing audio for seamless production and referencing
    • Hear how your tracks sound when played on a variety of music delivery platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, and more
    • Gives you neutral reference sound when listening music from out-of-DAW sources
  • Reference 3 Headphone Calibration Plug-In (3 Licenses - Download)

The Reference 3 Headphone Calibration Plug-In download from Sonarworks provides three licenses for accurate calibration of selected headphones, and enables mixing and mastering with consistent results. Working with headphones can sometimes be misleading, and doesn't always translate well when playing back your mix on speakers. Whether in the comfort of your studio or on the road, this DAW plug-in makes it possible to take your reference with you, and to trust the mixes you create on your favorite headphones with greater confidence.

Headphone calibration provides a flat frequency response that precisely matches the sound of calibrated speakers in a well-treated studio. The software utilizes the patent-pending Perceived Acoustic Power Frequency Response (PAPFR) acoustic measurement system that measures sound the way humans perceive it. It produces calibration profiles for individual headphones, set with +/-3 dB or even better accuracy across the entire frequency range.

The Simulation option lets you use your headphones to hear your mix through various models of speakers.
