Good product, compatible with MS Surface Laptop

I bought the iLevel 2 Adjustable Stand to use with a Microsoft Surface laptop. The stand's height adjustment is smooth and accommodates several work surfaces of varying heights. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse and have not experienced a bouncing effect described by some reviewers. The laptop remains noticeably cooler on this stand than on previous improvised height solutions that I tried. I recommend this stand. product.

I purchased this stand for my PC (not a MacBook) because of a great recommendation from NYTimes Wirecutter and I do like it very much, but it bounces up and down when I type. Until I got used to this effect, it was distracting. I'm getting used to it now and it bothers me less. If I had known about this effect, I may not have purchased it. I decided to keep it anyway.

Just received my iLevel, but it seems like my ...

Just received my iLevel, but it seems like my MacBook is too light or the spring isn't tensioned correctly so that I have to manually adjust/the slider doesn't engage the stand (I have to push down to get it to the lower setting). Is this a design flaw or defective?

The manufacturer only states that the iLevel works with all Macs. You would do well to contact Rain Design. The iLevel slider only works when there is sufficient weight applied to the stand.
