BOSS RC-1 Overview

From Manufacturer

With 12 minutes of stereo recording time, the RC-1 Loop Station Pedal from BOSS is small enough to fit on a pedalboard, even when used with an optional external footswitch such as the FS-5U, FS-6 or FS-7 (sold separately), which can be used as an additional control to easily undo/redo phrases or stop recording/overdubbing/playback.

The RC-1 is equipped with dual in/out jacks for use with stereo effects, stereo amps, or dual-amp setups, as well as to connect stereo instruments such as keyboards. Using a single footswitch and knob, the RC-1 is straightforward and easy to operate for the player that is just getting into looping. It can be used to create a basic backing track for practice or to jam along with or to layer complex phrases for luscious arrangements. Whether you're a beginner or a touring professional, the RC-1 is an ideal tool for any guitarist, bassist or keyboardist.

Loop Indicator
The RC-1 clearly displays its status with a circular 24-segment LED indicator. The indicator can show record/overdub/play status as well as visually track your loop. During overdubbing and playback, the speed at which the indicator rotates directly corresponds to the length of the loop
Stereo I/O
The RC-1 can be integrated into any part of your signal chain, be it pre effects loop or post effects loop. Stereo setups are supported via stereo inputs and outputs, so you can use the RC-1 after your stereo effects, before the signal goes back to your amp
External Footswitch Control
Use an external non-latching footswitch to divide the controls between the two footswitches, rather than having to tap-dance on the same pedal and risk losing your progress
Classic BOSS Design
The RC-1 can run off of a single 9V battery or an optional external 9 VDC power supply. The electronics are encased in BOSS's iconic durable metal housing with a non-slip rubber base. The battery compartment can be easily accessed by unscrewing the thumbscrew at the front of the pedal. This pedal utilizes a buffered bypass for silent switching and driving long cable runs, even while the pedal is disengaged

Okay Pedal

If you are someone who likes complicated foot pedals, this is the one for you. I purchased it feeling great. Then it arrived in the mail. I eagerly set it up and recorded my first loops. Over the past few days, I have realized things that I do not like. 1. This thing drains the battery so fast. With in an hour of being plugged in, the battery is gone. 2. There is no on-off switch. The only way to turn the pedal on and off is to plug it in or unplug it. 3. The overall feel of the pedal is very complicated to me. It is a bit too flashy. Again, this is coming from me. You may prefer that kind of stuff. I found the Wally looper pedal that I liked much better. It is smaller and stripped of the things that make the Loop station so complex. There are simpler controls and a simpler feel.
