As long as it will screw onto the tripod it will work. If it doesn't have the same tread mount, you can get an adapter collar if its a smaller tread.

How to take this head off the central tube?

How to take this head off the central tube?
Asked by: Andrey
Manfrotto tripods have grub screws (screws without traditional heads) on the underside of the base plate that the head attaches to. Usually 3 of them. These screws are backed off before the head is screwed onto the large central 3/8" mounting screw. Once the head is screwed down as tight as possible these 3 grub screws are screwed in/up so that they press against the bottom of the tripod head. This is to keep the head from slipping lose and unscrewing itself. So, when you go to take the head off be sure to back these screws back a few turns so they are not gripping the head above. This will usually do it. Sometimes if a head has been on for a long time it will be hard to unscrew even with the grub screws backed off. Sometimes a judicious whack with a rubber mallet is just the thing.

can it hold a NIKON D610 with battery pack and a 300 MM lens without tilting?
Asked by: Harvey
That's really pushing this head's limits. Especially depending on which 300mm lens. Manfrotto makes B&H # MA808RC4 and MAMHXPRO3W. Either of these would be a better choice in this style of head. If you're mounting The 300mm 2.8 reconsider your head choice. Lenses large enough to have a tripod collar are best mounted directly by the tripod collar foot and when mounting this way there are advantages to using an Arca style quick release design and a custom Arca style quick release plate.
