BenQ SW2700PT overview

  • 1Description

This SW2700PT 27" Widescreen LED Backlit QHD Monitor from BenQ features 99% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space for more accurate color representation for various types of photography. Aiding in the enhanced color accuracy of this BenQ monitor is the ability to calibrate the internal image processing chip, eliminating the need to tweak the graphics card in most situations. You can also take advantage of proprietary calibration software to ensure your monitor maintains the color accuracy it had on day one.

The display of the SW2700PT features a 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution with 109 pixels per inch for increased clarity. In addition to the enhanced resolution, you benefit from a more dynamic picture with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, reduced lag with a 5 ms response time, and a larger color palette with support for up to 1.07 billion colors. On the back of the monitor you will find DVI-DL, HDMI 1.4, and DisplayPort 1.2 inputs for easy setup. Once set up, you can easily configure the display with intuitive OSD controls and even attach the included shading hood to help block ambient light.

99% Adobe RGB Coverage
Utilize your DSLR camera to its full potential with BenQ's Adobe RGB color space, a set of color management features that offer a greater range of color reproduction for shades of blue and green, resulting in a more realistic color representation for outdoor and nature photography.
14-Bit 3D LUT & Delta E≤2
The 14-bit 3D lookup table (LUT) improves RGB color blending accuracy, resulting in enhanced color reproduction. Having delta E≤2 in both Adobe RGB and sRGB color spaces gives you the truest and most representative view of the original image.
Hardware Calibration
Hardware calibration allows you to adjust the image processing chip in the monitor without changing the graphic card output data. It keeps images consistent with its original copies without being affected by graphic settings.
Proprietary Palette Master Element Calibration Software
With the use of Palette Master Element and a calibrator, you can tune and maintain the color performance of the monitor at its most optimal state.
QHD Resolution
While editing or checking your work, the pixel density of these monitors gives you the high performance needed for expressing your creativity in extreme details.
109 Pixel Per Inch
With ultra-high pixel density, photographic images will be displayed with clarity, definition, and accuracy, allowing all the details in your photos to be brought out.
OSD Controller
The OSD controller is a remote controller that comes with three preset buttons, each set up with a customized display setting such as photo editing, entertainment, or web surfing. This allows you to switch between the presets without going through settings. The OSD controller also comes with a button for quick OSD navigation and setting.
Black-and-White Mode
With a simple click of a button, you can preview color photos in black-and-white before adding the actual effect.
Shading Hood
Ambient lighting and glare can often obstruct the user's perception of color reproduction. With this in mind, the SW series includes a detachable shading hood made specifically for glare reduction and in areas where controlling ambient light is not feasible.

    BenQ SW2700PT reviews

SW2700PT 27" Widescreen LED Backlit QHD Monitor is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 100.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BENQ SW2700PT - Great Monitor I purchased this monitor after reading many reviews about monitors suitable for photo editing. This one was rated very highly and cost under $1K. The biggest negative was complaints about dead pixels when the monitor was delivered. I encounter no problems. This monitor is everything I expected and more. Great resolution and color. Calibrating the monitor was easy. If you purchase this monitor, go to the BenQ website and download the manual and other information sheets for reference. I had to test the 3 supplied cables to find the proper on for maximum resolution at 60Hz based on my video card.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm not an expert There is a clear visible difference in the quality of the image when compared to my old asus 27 that is now being used a a second monitor. I had to buy a new xrite-display calibration device to calibrate it but I think that every photographer needs this combination. The monitor is very cheap for the quality it offers. I had to buy an extra Displayport to Displayport cable because my video card did not have a mini Displayport. But you can use DVI or HDMI that come with it, or the DisplayPort to mini DsiplayPort that is also included. I'd highly recommend you check out Martin Bailey's review of this unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great display for the money. Research first though** I love the monitor and it is a great value for the price. I assumed that my colormunki photo edition would work to profile this display. I was wrong!!!! I have a expensive tool to profile my monitors but it will not work with this display. There is a short list of the ones that do. So I had to buy another calibrator to take advantage of this display. After that frustration I am in love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, super bright crisp monitor I've worked as a graphics professional for over 25 years, doing animation, illustration and photography. I'm very happy with this purchase. The monitor is very bright and crisp. To ease the transition from my previous one, I had to turn the brightness down to 70% or so. Colors are accurate. Not a single dead pixel. Super solid stand and nice out of view but easily accessible buttons. One heads up: The higher resolution means that most of my favorite applications now have substantially smaller font and GUI elements. Not a huge problem, but takes some getting used to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice monitor I have upgraded from an older Dell Ultrasharp 2408, and overall I'm happy with the monitor. One of the reasons I chose it was the low blue light emission, but to my surprise I didn't find any options for it in the OSD menu. Also, the lower right hand corner shows a bluish cast, I expected better screen uniformity at this price range, but reading reviews shows that it's a common issue unfortunately, and many have swapped theirs, some even several times until they found a good copy. I'm just a hobbyist black and white shooter for the most part, so I've decided against the hassle of replacing it, but hence the 4 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great color, affordable! I bought a refurbished. Everything is great! It setup on Windows 10 easily, all the drivers worked. The benq calibration software worked no problem with my xrite i1 display pro (I downloaded latest version from benq site, it was a little hard to find, go to support for the monitor). My only complaint is that the top visor dips a little, does not stay in a clean straight line. This is why 4 stars, not 5 stars. It does have a nice little sliding door just the right size to drop an xrite i1 display pro through for the calibration, so no need to remove it for that. I have it mounted on a Vivo stand, did not use the provided stand.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It might not be worth the hassle I really had high hopes for this panel, it calibrated out to the full Adobe RGB gamut, and my eyes would swim underneath that great hood, but after an afternoon of calibrating and scanning I noticed a serious problem. The right side of my screen had a blue cast, while the left magenta. This is a known issue, and I wound up with a 'bad' copy of this monitor. In my mind if you're spending money for a display that is supposed to be color accurate than the factory should have a higher rejection rate, and the fact that they included a unique calibration sheet for the panel I bought just added insult to injury. I would think about whether your time is worth the difference between this and a known quantity like an NEC or Eizo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from never had a better screen I used to habe Eizo and Quato screens, which are without a doubt a class of its own. After doing son research and being on a tight budget, I stumbled over this display. The tech specs are amazing and I am stunned about the quality of this screen. That it comes with the hood included is a big plus. The remote allows the easy switch between Adobe and SRGB with one click. The included sd card reader is another big plus. You will not find a better screen for the price. The colors are accurate with factory calibration. This display is unbelievably crisp. The stand is sturdy and can be turned left and right. I can't find anything negative about this one. I use it for Art reproduction and it already saved a lot of time because of its color accuracy. I would most definitely recommend it even over NEC and Eizo. The features are just incredible for the price. Happy I got this one.
