Epson XP-830 reviews

Expression Premium XP-830 Small-In-One Inkjet Printer is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 2158.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup & Solid Printer This printer was extremely easy to set up, it has a touch screen interface and isn't too big so it won't take up too much desk space. I was looking for a printer that could scan and copy, and this one is solid on all accounts. The wireless feature is especially useful, the output tray comes out automatically for documents, copying is easy. I haven't tried the scan feature yet, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed. The printer has an idle setting once you're done, so you don't have to turn off and turn back on the printer each time you use it (if there is downtime between printing). We'll see how long the ink lasts, but so far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality and Versatility I had an Epson Artisan 710, which served me very faithfully until an accident caused it to fall about 3.5 feet to the floor. I guessed it was probably as expensive to fix that one as to get the XP-830, and the 830 has a couple of extra features (e.g., a document feeder for scan/copy). I think this is a superb printer overall, but a key feature that sets it apart is the ability to print on CD/DVDs. Customers love it when I deliver a CD/DVD with their logo, my logo, custom text, all merged with a background image (JPEG, etc.) of their or my choice. A friend has an HP printer that can print CDs, but the software is ***not*** anywhere close to Epson's (e.g., no JPEGs).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from buy only if you can afford it I have used Epson for years but now I'm not so sure I will stick with it. It goes through ink like water. It messes up my pages most of the time unless I clean the print nozzles which uses up more ink. I bought it because I print a lot on dvd's and it is easy to use for that. However, I usually have to print 2 or 3 to get 1 usable one. It is also very slow in printing. In a world where most electronics move quickly, this one does not. I use it because this is what is provided to me through my work place. Otherwise, I'd trash it and find something else. When it does work, it looks good and that is why I gave it 2 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super easy to use! I'm not great with technology, this is the 4th printer I've purchased this year and this is the keeper!! Set up was easy, I put the disc in and it set itself up. Print quality is fantastic, it does everything you could need it to do, works great, has never jammed and takes up such a small space. You don't give up any features with it's small size. Didn't think I would like the touch screen but it makes it simple to use and easy to see what you're doing. This uses less ink than my previous printers. It's is a great deal for the price. I work at home and use the printer for scanning and for printing photos and documents. Also use it for home art projects. Love everything about it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Printer Bought this brand and model based upon Consumer Reports "best buy" recommendation. Well designed all-in-one printer, all functions are very user friendly. The on printer control panel is very well organized and easy to use. I set my printer up as a network printer (which is one of the main reasons I bought this model) and the set up was simple and flawless. The on line support software for off site printing and smart phone printing is easy to load and works (which is unusual these days). I was extremely impressed with the printer setup software and the effortless connections it made to all my devises. And the print quality is outstanding by the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features I was surprised at the quality of several features. One, the cd printer (the reason why I bought the XP-630) works so much better than my old Epson RX-260. Then, there is the scanner. While it doesn't do slides, negatives or positives; the software does have features that only the stand alone scanners have - mainly the ability to automatically adjust the color on older photos and slides. There are other tweaks I won't get into that work nicely to enhance certain types of scanned documents and photographs. ONLY ONE NEGATIVE. The cost of replacement ink. Because of ink costs, I will use this printer mainly to print cds and as a scanner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Issues I have only had this printer for a few months. I have had to replace the ink cartridges, even though we do not use the printer very much. The last time I replaced the cartridges was a month ago. I have printed out about 12 pictures and a few documents. The cyan has run out. I cannot print anything until I replace the cyan, even though I want to print documents in black and white. Also, if I put more than one piece of paper in the printer, it jams. If I want to print a two page document, I have to print one page, then reload the printer to print the second page. Very frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleasantly Surprised I agonized while I was in the store over this unit or a Canon. I had researched til I couldn't research any more. And this was the one that came out on top. Even more so because of the price. But when I got it home and set it up I was so pleased I couldn't wait to write a review! I don't have a kid at home to help with "technical" stuff anymore so having the setup be so simple and have everything complete in such a quick time eased my mind about my product choice! I was worried it would be difficult to use for anything more than simple printing, but now I can't wait to use it for printing my pictures!
