Epson XP-960 reviews

Expression Photo XP-960 Small-In-One Inkjet Printer is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 181.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best printer I have owned My friend recommended Epson printers to me. She has one of the older models and a new model. I looked to see what all the features where and purchased the XP-960. Out of the box it has been amazing, with all of it's features. I have even taken it to my mother's to scan old family photos. I am amazed by the capabilities of it. It has scanned and corrected old photos that looked like they were just the worst quality and proved to me that they were salvageable. I printed black and white photos of my grandparents and great grandparents that were in rough shape. This is the greatest printer and well worth the money for it. Thank you Epson.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson XP-960 I bought this unit to replace my Epson Stylus Photo 1400. I haven't fully tested it, yet. So far I've only used two features: DVD printing & photo printing. The printer is hooked up to my PC with a USB cable and wirelessly to my laptop. I printed 14 test photos: candles, flowers, landscapes, sunsets, butterflies and a waterfall. The photos are FANTASTIC from either of my computers. The colors in the photos are as they appear on the monitor. The DVDs are pretty good too! The 1400 allowed me to make larger prints than the XP-960. But, 11" x 17" isn't tiny. I only have one complaint. I received a quick setup guide with my unit, but not a written manual.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable ink drinker When I initially bought this machine it worked beautifully, very good photo quality. It has good features and is pretty easy to use. The problem came when I had to replace the ink cartridges that were factory installed. Everything went fine, it said the cartridges were installed properly and full of ink. But the light cyan would not print at all. After checking the nozzles and cleaning the heads five times, to no avail, it told me that the good cartridges were almost empty. So to clean the heads I had to waste about $75 worth of ink. Totally unacceptable, but Epson has always seemed to design their printers to waste as much ink as possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Photo Printer I experimented with several different kinds of paper - matte, glossy, ultra glossy, etc. with a variety of photos of animals, nature scenes and art works in a museum. All was excellent and the colors were true. (Of course I had calibrated my monitor and was using PhotoShopCC.) The WIFI connection to several computers in our house works perfectly - no drops or interruptions. The scanner does TIFF (good enough for PS), PNG, JPEG, JPEG2000, GIF, BMP,and PDF. I wish it would save as PSD. The quality is good, the maximum dpi is 2400, and there is correction options on the scan software in case you don't have PS or some other image processor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful!! Even before turning the printer on and completing the setup it was obvious that this was a quality printer. Setup was extremely easy and hardly took any time at all. I ran into zero issues during setup and install and have had no problems since using the printer. The pictures are very crisp and clear when printed and the word documents and everything else I print are done quickly and cleanly. I am extremely pleased with the XP-960 and would eagerly recommend it to anyone who needs a great printer that is simple to use and does quality work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This printer works very well for me I don't print a lot of material, but as a designer, when I do print it, I want the quality to be decent. I also use an 11x17 format for presentations more often than not, and so it was important to me to be able to print on this size. However as this printer is for my home office, I didn't have a lot of space for something big and unwieldy. I spent a lot of time researching printers, and I'm very happy with this model. It's a good compromise between size, ability to print on different media and different sizes, and print quality. I also appreciate being able to print wirelessly. You can't store a lot of paper in the trays, and the larger sizes have to be fed into the rear. It's not really quick, but for me these are not as important because I don't print a lot, and other qualities were much more important to me. I would also recommend using an inkjet paper as the general printing paper, because on the thinnest paper it tends to get over-saturated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient Quality This printer is an absolute delight to use. A lot of time was spent researching all in one printers before this printer was purchased. It has exceeded the anticipated features that were desired in an all in one printer. Performance for the price is incredible and the color quality of photos rivals much more expensive photo printers in all brands. If you are looking for a great quality performer this machine fits the bill. Be aware that most stores are not stocking the cartridges yet and refills must be ordered and shipped. Regards

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality for the price. I use this to print photographs on 8x10 and 11x14 premium paper. The quality of the output is amazing. Setup was very simple. It connected to my wireless network without any issues. I bought some 3rd-party ink cartridges to replace the starter cartridges. They worked without a problem, the printer didn't even complain about them being a non-Epson brand. Printing is a little slow when printing in high quality mode but I am not printing large quantities so it is fine for me.
