    Apple MD463LL/A reviews

Thunderbolt 2 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a Thunderbolt 3! - won't work with late 2016 Macbook Pro The description of this product is incomplete and the photo supplied by B&H does not indicate that it is a Thunderbolt 2 connection. The product probably works fine connecting directly with a 2015 Macbook Pro, but won't work by connecting to the newer late 2016 Macbook Pros, which require a new Thunderbolt 3 connection. This product should have been labelled THUNDERBOLT 2 (OR 1) TO GIGABIT ETHERNET ADAPTER. I will now need to buy a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 connector cable to attach to this item to possibly enable it to work with my new Macbook Pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well It was used to transfer data from my old MacBook, with Snow Leopard, to my new MacBook Pro, with Yosemite, via Migration Assistant. I attached the cable adapter to the new one and used the Ethernet plug on the old one and everything worked immediately on the simulated local network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfect My home WiFi speed was killing me (plaster walls=blocked or slowed signal strength going to one office space) when working on my laptop, so ran a longer Ethernet cord to my office and bought adapter so I could not only have faster connection for my desktop but my laptop as well. Works perfectly! Speeds equal to what I’m getting on the desktop with Ethernet cord plugged straight into that, so being an adaptor doesn’t hinder my speeds for what I do at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I am a new macbook user who still cannot accept the fact that a computer comes with no ethernet port. Once I settled down, I ordered this thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter. Good thing is- it is working fine. Completely plug and play and I am getting expected speed. The only down side is it's price. $ for a converter is too pricey... then again I spent more than $ to buy a computer so I should not complain :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Add onother adapter to connect to new Mac laptops I bought both the Apple Thunderbolt (TB) 2 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter and the Apple TB 3 Male to TB 2 Female Adapter for use with a 2017 MacBook Pro (MBP). This MBP has four Thunderbolt (TB) 3 ports but no inbuilt ethernet (or Firewire) ports. I prefer the security of a wired connection and the MUCH faster file transfers speed of GigaBit ethernet to the MBP's normal wi-fi connection. TB2 and TB3 connectors are different sizes. Therefore, to use the ethernet adapter with the TB3 ports on my MBP, I had to buy both adapters and connect them in series with my ethernet cable. It looks kludged, but it works fine. By the way, I also use the TB3 to TB2 adapter with an Apple Thunderbolt To Firewire(FW) Adapter to connect my Firewire devices to the 2017 MBP. The product description for the TB to FW adapter did not specify that the TB3 to TB2 adapter was required for connection to the TB3 connections of current MBPs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and fast! Purchased this along with my new MacBook. Laptops are all geared with wifi built in but you can't get away without a wire especially when migrating from one laptop to the next. The thunderbolt option was an easy and setup/connectivity was seamless. Definitely a need to buy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good to have as a spare This works as expected, but for the same price you can get a USB hub with ethernet. I had bought this but then I needed to use my 2 only mini display ports for monitors that could not be daisy chained. I wish Apple would make this more useful with more ports or something.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I picked this up My recent MacBook pro does not have an Ethernet port, so I was relying on mu home wireless network. It was less than perfect. The Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter has resulted in a MUCH more stable and faster connection to the internet.
