The Stella Pro 5000 LED Light from Light & Motion is a daylight-balanced LED source that packs enough features to cause many users to call it their ideal on-camera source. For location work, the Stella Pro 5000 is hard to beat. With a very small form factor and weight of only 2.5 lb, it's barely noticeable in your kit case. What is noticeable is the clean, accurate color rendering output from the unit's flicker-free COB LED that gives it a rating of 90 CRI and 93 TLCI.

The Stella Pro 5000 has a wide 120 degree beam that can be narrowed with the included 50° focus optic or softened with the optional diffuser. The fan-less design is dead quiet for sound-sensitive locations and is dimmable either continuously or in steps. And, the housing is durably built. Not only can it survive repeated dropping on concrete from a height of 3.3', but it's also waterproof to depths of 328 feet!

The unit is powered by a built-in battery that charges in 1.5 hr. to 80% and 2.0 hr. to full charge, giving you a run time of 90 to 720 minutes depending on the power selected. You can also run the light from a D-Tap external battery source for longer shoots. Additionally, you can use mains power anywhere in the world thanks to the inclusion of a multi-voltage AC power supply. The Stella Pro 5000 also comes with a 50° Focus Optic, 4-way barndoor set, high leverage handle, stand mount, and an external power supply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving the Stella Light I've owned the Stella 5000 for about a month, and I am so impressed by this light in every way. It's so much brighter than any of my other continuous lights, and the output temperature is perfect -- no tungsten amber, no too-cool blue. The light is so clean that my images look great straight out of camera. I use the Stella 5000 both hand-held (for portraits and light painting) and on a light stand, and it's quickly become the only continuous light I need to bring to weddings or events. One of the cool things about this light is that a readout on the back tells you how long you have until the battery dies (with a full charge at 90 minutes if you're not using wall power). I love not having to guess when my lights might die. All in all, a great light for weddings, events, portraits and cinematography.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over Priced, Wonky and limited As professional photographer there is not much I have not used in the market. I travel often and I prefer many other tools than this. Good concept bad execution overall.1. It's overpriced for what it is2. Wonky stand adapter. 3. super uncomfortable tightening knobs4. Profoto adapter was ridiculous plastic ring that falls off.5. On/Off Slider kept bouncing between settings 6. MUCH BETTER options out there. The best use of this light is to point it up and have it light your equipment room or make up and styling table and for that you can get $ smith victor. Don;t waste your time and money. Go to Fiilex or one of the other brands available more established.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Portable and powerful, easy to use I am not a pro photographer, but I am taking my first steps to learn. I have done a couple of underwater videos with my GoPro (of course with the Sidekick Duo). The Stella 5000 light has helped me and my friends to take action photos and videos anywhere we go. It is a little pricy, but after using it for a couple of occasions, I am not regretting the price I paid for this amazing gadget.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changing Technology Like many adventure filmmakers, my work takes me to very harsh environments with challenging expeditionary conditions. Underwater caves, chasing hurricanes, or battling a sand storm in the North African Desert. Light & Motion's Stella lights are precisely what I need to operate lean and mean. I have been using Light & Motion's underwater lighting for a few years now. Beyond quality and durability, these instruments are lightweight and pack a punch with a beautiful beam quality. But I am always impressed by L&M's customer service, testing and manufacturing excellence. The Stella line includes well thought out modifiers that are easy to attach, simple and lightweight. They have truly re-invented lighting and made it possible for professionals such as myself to travel with lightweight, capable equipment that meets my amphibious life. Kudos for understanding that today's filmmakers are independent and need professional lighting gear they can operate alone in tough conditions and carry on commercial aircraft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant I'm a photographer, cinematographer, and professional educator with over forty years of experience and I'm always on the look-out for new and useful lighting instruments. I discovered Light & Motion products through my scuba diving connections and instantly admired the company's commitment to quality. When I learned that they were entering the terrestrial lighting arena, I contacted the company and arranged to buy four Stella 5000s for stand mounting and two Stella 1000s for on-camera fill. Now that B&H carries Light & Motion, I'll buy additional units through my favorite camera store. I couldn't be happier. I shoot Action/Adventure documentaries, music videos, and environmental portraiture and since I received my Stella 5000s my other LEDs have begun to gather dust. As tough as nails, obviously rain-proof since they're submersible to 330', and capable of working off of either wall current or their own internal batteries, the Stella series is a lighting dream realized. My early samples did not have an umbrella mount but that short-coming was quickly rectified by the folks at Light & Motion. The tilter, like the main body, is constructed of one of several high-tech and heavy-duty plastics for resistance to saltwater. The locking mechanism uses a high leverage and re-positionable lever. Pro-level quality is obvious throughout. I love 'em! I plan to by the Stella 2000s after I get a second Thinktank bag to accommodate an expanded kit. Anyone who can't see the quality and utility of these brilliant lights clearly needs to get some real-world experience. I'll be using mine at every trade show seminar I teach going forward. I'm easy to find - look for the guy with the neon green eyeglasses shooting beautifully models on the Canon presentation stage! I'll be happy to give you some one-on-one lighting tips. Nothing else comes close to the Stella light.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Bought this on the recommendation of a friend who had been using a tester unit. Much better brands available with more options. over priced with little possibility for expansion. Flimsy mount connector. Uncomfortable knobs to loosen and tighten, locked into their eco-system and cannot modify even with a simple umbrella. Bought one and now debating returning it. if you shoot underwater, sure, but gimmicky otherwise.
