Visual Departures SB-5 Overview

Steadybag allows fast, rock-solid shooting on any surface, eliminating time-consuming tripod setup.  It conforms to any uneven surface bringing a new freedom to location still and video photography.  Steadybag is filled with custom-milled polypropylene beads in an outer casing made of rugged waterproof expedition-grade nylon, and it comes with a padded shoulder strap.

If you use the Arca-Swiss type system of quick release camera and/or lens plates (from Acratech, Arca-Swiss, Foba, Novoflex or Wimberley) and seek the ultimate stability upon a beanbag, you'll find it by attaching two Wimberley Module 1 quick release arms (B&H item code "WIM1") to the quick release plate.  Connected to the quick release plate so that the arms face in opposite directions, a snowshoe-like foot is created which makes switching the camera from horizontal/vertical within the lens collar a cinch.

A One-Man-Band's Bestfriend!

I love SteadyBags & I'm ordering another for a DSLR. They are indispensable for news photographers. When I was a one-woman-band, the SteadyBag helped me get solid shots on the fly. Every photographer needs one. It's easy to carry around, great for ground shots, your can put it on any stable surface to get good video. I've used it to hold down tripods & light stands. You can also sit on it.

Perfect addition to my gear

I looked at every bean/sand bag I could find and settled on the Steadybag. I think the price, size, and wieght are perfect for wildlife photography, and a quick makeshift tripod for landscape images. I am very pleased with the bag and would highly recommend it.
