The DSL5C from Marshall Amplification is a 4-valve combo amplifier for electric guitar, featuring a single 10" Celestion Ten-30 speaker, two channels with volume and gain controls, and a comprehensive equalization section. The Dual Super Lead (DSL) offers two channels, Classic Gain and Ultra Gain, to provide a wide tonal palette of classic Marshall tones.
Classic Gain takes you from a shimmering, harmonic-enhanced clean to a 1959-style crunch when the volume control is cranked, while the Ultra Gain takes you into the world of modern, high-gain tone with separate gain and volume controls. Both channels share a passive three-band EQ with controls for bass, mid, and treble. The Tone-Shift button provides a mid-scoop that is synonymous with modern metal, especially when combined with higher gain settings.
The amp's EQ section features a Deep button, which adds a fixed, resonant bass boost without adding mud, while the High/Low power switch lowers the power from 5W to 1W. Additional features include an FX loop with serial send and return jacks for incorporating effects processors and pedals, a switchable emulated line/headphone output, and an audio input for listening to an auxiliary source, such as a backing track, when using headphones. The headphone output and audio input only function in Low power mode, otherwise the headphone output jack operates as a line output and the audio input does not function. The DSL5C ships with a power cord and a footswitch for Classic Gain/Ultra Gain channel selection.
