Place the pedal in front of any clean or overdriven amp, whether it's tube or solid state, vintage or modern, and you can instantly alter its personality, giving it the tonal characteristics of a stock '68 Plexi or a hot-rodded monster with more gain.
Featuring dual footswitches, the left footswitch activates the pedal's "Stock" mode for the sound of a stock '68 Plexi, and also functions to bypass the pedal entirely. Once the Stock mode has been activated, the right footswitch will engage the "Hot" mode, which adds an extra stage of preamp gain, as if you hot-rodded the amp with an additional 12AX7 tube for up to 28 dB of additional preamp boost and higher gain levels that are regulated by a separate Level control. Also included is the "Punch" control, which acts as a modified mid frequency control.
The Hot-Rod Plexi pedal can also be used with Tech 21's SansAmp line of preamps and pedals, minimizing valuable real estate on stage and in the studio.
