OP/TECH USA 1210012 overview

  • 1Description

The OP/TECH USA Tripod Strap (Nature) is designed to carry a tripod up to 40" with a camera, spotting scope or camcorder attached. It has a recommended load up to 25 lbs. The strap has 2 loops; one to wrap around the legs and a smaller loop that attaches to the column at the top of the tripod. The strap is very easy on the shoulder with thick neoprene padding and a Non Slip Grip that secures the strap snugly, leaving your hands free to deal with other equipment or rough terrain. It is fully adjustable up to 15-44" (38.1-111.8cm).

The design of the adjustment system allows the tripod to be carried with the camera, spotting scope or video in place. The tripod strap enables you to carry a tripod in a horizontal position, by the side or in a vertical position against the back. It has a quick disconnect that makes the strap easy to attach or remove.

This strap is made in the USA.

    OP/TECH USA 1210012 reviews

Tripod Strap (Nature) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Centered Pad The strap seems to be well-made and sturdy. I like the wide, dense padding on the strap. The buckles are reliable. However, the strap does not seem to be designed correctly for carrying the tripod on your back. The padded section is spaced approximately equi-distance from each end. This works fine if you want to carry the tripod at a horizontal angle under your arm. But I want it diagonally down the length of my back. For this arrangement, one end of the strap needs to be longer, to reach the lower back. Yes, I can shorten the other end but then it is too short overall. I managed to make this work by adding to the strap but it is not ideal. The wide padded part barely seats on my shoulder; it is mostly across my chest, where it is not needed and is hot. ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Right I have an old style Manfrotto tripod and head. It is a beast but also rock steady. I use it for landscape and when I shoot sequences. I had been carrying it in its bag but that required taking off the handles from the head to fit the bag and the bag was just one more thing to carry. I went for the op/tech strap based on price and some reviews. Glad I did. The two loops allow it to fit my tripod easily and the quick detach makes it easy to set up. The shoulder pad is large and soft and it has a sort of elasticity in it that helps absord the weight when I am walking. Two thumbs up. Would buy again and definitly reccomend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Useful! As a nature photographer I use a tripod a good deal of the time and thus spend a great amount of time lugging one around. I ordered this strap on a wim and after sending in the order I wondered if it had been money well spent. Two days after the strap arrived I had no doubt that it had been money well spent and I now can not imagine being without this strap. I own a 6 lb tripod and the excellent design of this strap and ample padding make carting the tripod around a pleasure. Plus the quick relase fastech buckles make releasing the strap when ready to use the tripod a breeze. As I say, money well spent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made in the USA Quality I bought this strap to fit and carry a new still-camera tripod as effortlessly as possible. I shoot mainly wildlife photos and need gear that is quick to operate, quiet in operation, and the lighter the weight, the better. This is a very well constructed strap that I expect will give me many years of use, based on previous OP/TECH straps. I like the tackiness of the inside of this strap because it keeps the tripod from slipping around as I change positions while hiking, squatting, going prone, and generally stalking critters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sly satisfaction with Op/Tech tripod str There's a certain gratification to slinging my new RRS TVC24L over my shoulder with my new low-tech $ Op/Tech strap. The tripod's like air and with the strap it's just out of the way. I can carry with or without the D90 on it, and the strap is easy-on, easy-off. You're basically unaware of carrying anything extra. I can't even imagine what bells and whistles more expensive straps may have, and I;m not looking. No Cons, although i myself am given to putting it on with one end twisted: takes no more than a second to remedy. Disclosure: none - just a happy customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, now easy to carry tripods Always had the choice of added burden in carrying the tripod in its case. This strap definitely makes that choice easier, as carrying the tripod is now much easier, I won't have to leave it behind as often. It is also easier to deploy the tripod. The pads are comfortable. I tend to use this with the ballhead down. Why fight gravity if I do not have to? It seems easier to use it this way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful Product This is a useful way to carry a tripod. It keeps both my hands free which is helpful when climbing in rough terrain or for walking city streets. I keep one end attached to the top portion of the tripod at all times. The end which circles the legs is the only one I remove when using the tripod. I have to be careful that I pay attention and fully attach the end which circles the bottom of the legs as it came loose a couple of times. The shoulder strap is very comfortable. I would purchase this item again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great with Manfrotto Video Tripod Kit I've owned the Manfrotto 701HDV,547BK Video Tripod System Kit for a couple of years now. It's great, but it doesn't come with a carrying strap, nor does it offer a steel ring to attach shoulder straps with a spring clip. So I've just been carrying it around in my arms, which gets irritating and tiring. Then I discovered the Tripod Strap by Op/Tech USA. It has adjustable loops that fit around the bottom of your tripod legs and just below the tripod head, and then they can be unclipped when needed with the Quick Disconnect connectors. I was initially concerned with how securely these loops would fit and hold my tripod, but testing the unit out demonstrated that loops held everything firmly in place. The shoulder strap itself is also adjustable, and has a nice elastic quality to it. I've found it quite comfortable in use and the whole unit seems extremely well made and rugged. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
