With the ability to accommodate up to eight 12 Gb/s, Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS) drives or 6 Gb/s Serial ATA (SATA) drives, the ARC-4038 8-Bay 12Gb SAS Expander JBOD Tower Enclosure from Areca users can quickly and easily expand their storage. This tower enclosure is capable of housing up to eight 2.5" and or 3.5" disk drives at speeds of up to 15K for SAS drives and up to 10K for SATA drives.

With plug-and-play configuration this tower enclosure can be set up in no time. On the back of the unit you will find eight SAS hard drive connectors, a single power supply connector, two cooling fan module connectors, and a single expander board connector. Users can also take advantage of four SFF-8644 and one SFF-8088 connectors making it easy to connect to host/expansion units. To manage this tower enclosure, Areca has integrated into the unit one 6-pin RJ-11 connector and one RJ-45 LAN connector.
