MSI Z170A PC Mate Overview

The MSI Z170A PC MATE ATX Motherboard allows you to build a PC system with a 6th-generation Intel processor along with up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM. It features an Intel Z170 chipset and an LGA 1151 socket as well as four DIMM slots. It comes with a PCIe x4 M.2 slot and two USB 3.1 ports with 10 Gb/s speeds to transfer data quickly between your drives and the system. MSI has also designed this motherboard with features such as OC Genie 4 and Guard Pro to enhance your components and help ensure your system runs stable.

This motherboard comes outfitted with six SATA 6 Gb/s connectors and two SATA Express connectors, which transfer data at a rate up to 10 Gb/s. In addition to the USB 3.1 ports, the rear I/O panel has three USB 3.0 ports for your printer, scanner, and more. The built-in Realtek RTL8111H controller provides Gigabit Ethernet speeds as well as a reliable connection to your networks. To deliver sounds, it sports a Realtek ALC887 codec and three audio jacks. Furthermore, it offers two PS/2 ports that connect to your keyboard and mouse.

For faster data transfers, the Turbo M.2 slot delivers speeds up to 32 Gb/s, which is five times faster than a SATA III connection. With a PCI x4 M.2 SSD, the system will boot up nearly instantaneously and your applications will run faster. MSI has an optional U.2 host card adapter for the M.2 slot, so the motherboard can support 2.5" SSDs using the U.2 connector. Moreover, a Redriver chip is added to increase the data transfer speed.

MSI Click BIOS 5 is optimized for Windows 10. You can control your system in two modes: EZ mode provides frequently used settings and functions, while Advanced mode offers detailed settings and fine-tuning options to boost your system's performance. It's also easy-to-use and has high-resolution multi language scalable fonts as well as advanced overclocking options.
Networking
The integrated Gigabit Ethernet adapter is optimized with Network Genie. This software program allows you to change the application's traffic priority to improve networking performance. You can use it for cloud computing and data syncing.
M-Cloud
