The Z97-DELUXE (NFC & WLC) Motherboard from ASUS is designed to fit in standard size ATX cases. The 12.0 x 9.6" Z97-DELUXE supports 5th, New 4th, and 4th Generation Core i7, Core i5, Core i3, Pentium, and Celeron processors in the LGA1150 socket, as well as the Intel Z97 chipset. This motherboard is compatible with Windows 8.1, 8, and 7 operating systems. It includes an NFC Express 2 box with two additional USB 3.0 ports, an NFC Express tag, and ASUS' NFC Express utility. These will allow wireless interaction between your PC and smart devices when used with NFC Express 2 and Wireless Charger.

ASUS Z97 Overview

The ATX form factor of the Z97-DELUXE has four DIMM slots and can support up to 32GB of non-ECC, unbuffered DDR3 RAM at the following speeds - 3300(O.C.), 3200(O.C.), 3100(O.C.), 3000(O.C.), 2933(O.C.), 2800(O.C.), 2666(O.C.), 2600(O.C.), 2400(O.C.), 2200(O.C.), 2133(O.C.), 2000(O.C.), 1866(O.C.), 1600, and 1333 MHz. However, please be aware that the maximum base memory speed is 1600 MHz and anything higher is achieved through memory overclocking (O.C.).

The Z97-DELUXE has a total of 4 x SATA III 6 Gb/s connectors, 2 x SATA Express connectors, 1 x M.2 Socket 3 connector, 4 x USB 3.0/2.0 ports, 8 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports, and 6 x USB 3.0 ports. To provide data redundancy and/or data performance, RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 modes are supported. For PCIe expansion, there are two PCI Express 3.0/2.0 x16 slots (x16 or dual x8), one PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (max at x4 mode), and four PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots. Additionally, an included ASUS ThunderboltEX II card will allow this motherboard to take advantage of Thunderbolt 2 technology, with bi-directional transfer speeds of up to 20 Gb/s.

Using the Realtek ALC1150 codec, it can support 8-channel HD audio with Crystal Sound 2, 112 dB SNR stereo playback output, a 104 dB SNR recording input, 192 kHz / 24-bit True BD lossless sound, and more. Network connectivity is achieved using dual integrated Intel I218V and I211-AT Gigabit Ethernet controllers, as well as dual band 2.4 and 5 GHz 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity will also allow the pairing of compatible peripherals.

The Z97-DELUXE has integrated Intel HD graphics support with 1 x HDMI port, 1 x DisplayPort, and 1 x Mini DisplayPort. It can use up to 512MB of shared memory and also simultaneously supports three displays. Its HDMI port can support maximum resolutions of 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz and 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz, while both its DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort can support maximum resolutions of 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz and 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. It also supports Intel InTru 3D, Intel Quick Sync Video, Intel Clear Video HD, and Intel Insider. It is DisplayPort 1.2 multi-stream transport compliant and supports DisplayPort 1.2 monitor daisy chaining for up to three displays. Multi-GPU support is also integrated for NVIDIA Quad-GPU SLI and AMD 3-Way CrossFireX technologies.

The Z97-DELUXE is designed to be a complete solution provider. To this end, it undergoes over 7,000 hours of tests with over 1,000 products and has ASUS' 5X protection to help safeguard hardware and ensure long-term durability.
