The Asustor AS5002T 2-Bay NAS Server is an ideal home multimedia server. It is equipped with 1GB of DDR3L RAM and a 2.41 GHz Intel Celeron dual-core processor that can be overclocked to 2.58 GHz for increased performance. This enclosure is capable of fitting two 2.5" or 3.5" SATA II or III drives in a variety of RAID configurations including RAID 0,1,JBOD, and Single Disc to suit all your storage needs. Together with Asustor's ADM operating system, this NAS can achieve up to 112.05 MB/s and 110.2 MB/s read and write speeds respectively.

Asustor AS5002T Overview

The Asustor AS5002T 2-Bay NAS Server is an ideal home multimedia server. It is equipped with 1GB of DDR3L RAM and a 2.41 GHz Intel Celeron dual-core processor that can be overclocked to 2.58 GHz for increased performance. This enclosure is capable of fitting two 2.5" or 3.5" SATA II or III drives in a variety of RAID configurations including RAID 0,1,JBOD, and Single Disc to suit all your storage needs. Together with Asustor's ADM operating system, this NAS can achieve up to 112.05 MB/s and 110.2 MB/s read and write speeds respectively.

Connect to your network via its dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, and use the three USB 3.0 Type-A and three USB 2.0 ports for additional device compatibility. The Asustor NAS provides optimal data protection through RAID technology, automatic backup solutions, as well as built-in hardware encryption. When paired with mobile applications (iOS and Android), Asustor's exclusive Cloud Connect technology lets you access data on your NAS device from anywhere with an Internet connection. It also supports the use of NFS and iSCSI in the creation of shared storage for virtual environments.

Expandable Memory
Depending on your preference, you can upgrade the memory of the Asustor NAS. Simply remove the cover of the NAS and click the tabs holding the RAM in place to release it. There are two slots for a maximum of 8GB.

  • When expanding AS5 series memory, please ensure that both memory modules you are installing are of the same size.
  • When purchasing 8GB RAM modules, due to AS5 series platform limitations, you will only be able to install a single 8GB RAM module. The original RAM modules must be removed. It is not possible to have two 8GB RAM modules installed.
  • Installable RAM module combinations are as follows: 1GB + 1GB, 2GB + 2GB, 4GB + 4GB, Single 1, 2, 4, 8GB module installed in the first memory slot.
Dual Gigabit Ethernet Ports
The built-in dual Ethernet ports combined with the link aggregation function, allows your NAS to maintain its connection even if one of your Ethernet connections fail, significantly decreasing the likelihood of unexpected disconnections. Additionally, link aggregation provides faster transfer speeds than a single connection can. It also features load balancing, which automatically balances network traffic load across the two connections for high speed reliability.
Home Multimedia Center
The built-in HDMI interface and variety of multimedia apps let you to enjoy all of your favorite multimedia from your NAS. It supports full HD (1080p) output, allowing you to savor your movies, TV shows, music, and photos in high definition. Furthermore, through Asustor's App Central, you can install additional multimedia server apps such as UPnP Media Server and iTunes Server giving your NAS the ability to stream multimedia content to your computers, TVs and mobile devices.
High Quality Audio Output with S/PDIF
Turn your NAS into your digital music hub and let the Asustor device handle your local audio playback. You can use SoundsGood or iTunes Server to play high quality digital music from your NAS and combine it with S/PDIF high fidelity optical output for an immersive listening experience.
Quick and Easy File Access
The built-in File Explorer App allows you to access the files on your NAS through a web browser. Enjoy drag and drop file transfers along with a directory structure view that lets you easily organize your data.

  • Windows
    Asustor's exclusive Backup Plan utility lets you configure up to 6 different backup plans simultaneously. You can configure regularly scheduled backups of your important data and also sync the ever-changing files on your desktop to your NAS.
  • Mac Environment
    The Asustor NAS supports Apple Time Machine backups allowing you to backup your Mac to your NAS. Different Mac users can also safely backup their computers to the same NAS device.
  • Linux
    The Asustor NAS supports NFS/Rsync/SAMBA protocols giving you added flexibility when setting up your backup environment.
Save Power and Money
Asustor NAS products are developed to be eco-friendly and consume less power than the average computer or server. Furthermore, its advanced power control features allow you to efficiently manage your NAS device and hard drives all at the same time.
Video Surveillance
Keep an eye on important things with Surveillance Center. With Surveillance Center you can simultaneously view live feeds from multiple IP cameras, take snapshots, and control the pan, tilt, and zoom functions of all cameras through its browser-based interface. This Asustor NAS comes with 4 license free channels letting you setup 4 different network IP cameras.
